FFB Deadzone Fix for Logitech G27

FFB Deadzone Fix for Logitech G27 1.2

Log in to download, or make sure to confirm your account via email
Only for Assetto Corsa.
Deadzone fix tested on Logitech G27 (I reccomend you to launch the bat file, it will open automatically the file to edit and backups it, and copies the code that you have to paste in the file manually). Should work also on other wheels with same problem, but you could have to tweak the values I've provided.

Using this, the FFB output when the steering wheel is placed in the center will be multiplied, when driving in straights, for example.
It won't affect the force feedback outside of that center zone.
CENTER_BOOST_GAIN is the multiplier of the boost.
CENTER_BOOST_RANGE is the zone width (starting from the center), where to apply the boost.

How to install
Semi-Automatic way:
- Launch fixDeadzone.bat;
- Use the search tool of notepad, search [FF_TWEAKS] ;
- Select all the values inside that section;
- Ctrl-V (batch already copies the code, you only have to paste);
- Close file, clicking "Save" when prompted.

Manual way:
- Make a copy of original controls.ini
- Open Documents/Assetto Corsa/cfg/controls.ini;
- Find the FF_TWEAKS section;
- Overwrite this code to the whole section:
[FF_TWEAKS]
MIN_FF=0.00
CENTER_BOOST_GAIN=4
CENTER_BOOST_RANGE=0.001
- Close, clicking "Save" when prompted.

its awesome because it really works but i have one problem. I have g27 and when im in the game menu (hided on the right side of screen) there is ffb setting, and when i set up ffb force to 100, when im start driving on 3 km/k and higher i have realy strong vibrations. when im set it up to 80 i have vibr too but not on all 900 degrece. when i set it up t 20 and lower i have no vibrations but ffb is to weak to play. im so sorry for my eng but i belive you understand everything what i try to tell U(and another one question. is it works only with Assetto or with dirt ets2 etc too?

I understood but I don't know how to help you. This is only for Assetto Corsa, it tweaks Assetto Corsa hidden settings
It helped a lot. thanks

Hey man, really awesome that you found these settings. Thank you very much for that! It makes a world of difference!
I tweaked them a little so you don't have the little "bump" in the middle. I wrote a guide and linked your mod: http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/guide-for-g27-and-other-wheels-configuration.134490/

Nice, thanks :)
Thank ya!
Worked like a charm for my G29 all I had to do was change FFB Boost range to 0.000
Piereligio
Piereligio
Strange, changing it to 0.000 it should not work at all (theoretycally, since I didn't test 0.000 value).
BTW I'm happy that this helped :)
Much improved over the original. Gives a lot more feeling in the centre and thus, better ability to control each car.

Worked perfect on my G27!

I think this is good, but I do feel quite a 'bump in the middle' now. Could you give me the original settings for [FF Tweaks] So I can revert and retest?
Piereligio
Piereligio
[FF_TWEAKS]
MIN_FF=0.00
CENTER_BOOST_GAIN=0
CENTER_BOOST_RANGE=0

These are the original. I can reccomend you something like this, though:
[FF_TWEAKS]
MIN_FF=0.00
CENTER_BOOST_GAIN=2
CENTER_BOOST_RANGE=0.001
I have to set too the minimum force to 16%? Or just put your mod with 0% minimum force?
Thx
Piereligio
Piereligio
You should put minimum force to zero.
Nice thx... could you make this to dirt rally ?

I don't think it's possible to that game. I don't know it at all, though. I've simply used an hidden setting of assetto corsa, for this.
ahw man, this mod is awesome. it helped me so much! i was looking for something like that like a year! 5*

Awesome Fix ....Thank You very much !!

Piereligio
I'm happy about that :)
This works nicely, however it seems like when I'm at the center it tends to "clip" a bit or so it seems.
Piereligio
Piereligio
That's because it changes often the motor used (g27 has two motors, one for right, one for left)
Works as intended, thank you!

does not fix the deadzone , I have G27 .. followed instructions as you provided , but deadzone is still evident.

And why other people are happy about it? Look, or you have wrong up something in the installation (if you don't feel any difference, probably you have installed it bad), or you have low master force feedback multiplier (in that case the difference felt can be little, I guess). In that case, you can tweak the values I provided. You could increase the boost multiplier value. Too much boost causes continuous clipping when the steering wheel is straight.
