Mod page will be updated at a later time to add some more information and remove old invalid information

Some information (very compressed, possibly lacking as it's been a very long time and a lot has changed):
- Mod now uses my MscModApi
- No longer uses ScrewablePartAPI
- heavy optimization
- fixed a lot of bugs
- boost is now properly applied, no more "boost suddenly gone"
- reworked visuals, new tube material, new turbo models
- All parts have to be bought, no more "finding".
- Adjusted behaviour of turbos, less kick, better usable
- Readded ability to pick transmission type (AWD, FWD, RWD) in mod settings
- Temporarily removed wear system (may be added back in the future)
- Added ability to change volume of the different sounds used

Hey long time not seen... or read.
GitHub

No! I haven't returned.
Nothing planned.

With the release of ModLoader v1.2 by piotrulos I have decided to get back to work on my mods.
It will probably take a while for the new update but I wanted to let everybody know what changes are planned.
  • I want to remove the BugReporter and every other "online" feature (like the auto update of the ScrewablePartAPI).
Why? => I want to prevent any issues that might come at a later point because a server is not reachable or no longer exists.
The implementation is also not really secure because data has to be send to a server without SSL (Unity 5.0 issue, which the game runs on)
  • Make sure the mod works with ModLoader v1.2
  • Get the changes working that I added before stopping the development
  • Improve current implementations (especially improved performance)
  • Removing custom stuff (Like that the ScrewablePartAPI shows it's own version below the ModLoader version on the Main Menu
=> As this could cause issues with later version of ModLoader
  • Replacing/Removing the usage of ModApi by tommojphillips
=> The implementation works but I have several issues with it. It is just outdated and I already implemented a lot of helpers/wrappers to make usage easier for me.
One of the main issues is that it clones the object and toggles between them when installing a part (Which adds 2 objects to the game instead of just using the real one)
=> This will probably be implemented into the ScrewablePartAPI making it a "replacement" for the ModApi with added features
The points above are not in order.
I will probably start by making sure the current mods run with ModLoader v1.2.
Then rework ScrewablePartAPI to replace ModAPI.
A rename of the ScrewablePartAPI is also possible (maybe MscPartApi or something like that)
I reworked the turbo again.
I thing this one will be the final new design/model

(Other parts will also be remaded including with new textures)

Ignore the glitch you can see at one point i ****ed up while rendering ^^

Hey, long time not seen :)

Here are some fixes for the turbocharger mod. See the changelog for more infos.

I also made a small mod installer. Which is also the reason why the archive type changed from .7z to .zip.

(depending on how the mods of others are archived, this will also work with them)
ONLY STEAM VERSION IS SUPPORTED!
You can get it here: Google Drive

Screenshot_1.jpg

For other mods to function: they need to be in .zip format.
And have the following structure as shown with my turbo on as an example:
modinstallerZipExample.jpg
So inside the .zip file needs to be a folder that is named the same as the zip file (minus the extension)
(This is the default result if you have your mod inside a folder and do
right-click -> Z-Zip -> Add to archive)
All files that go into the Mods folder should go inside of that.

The .zip will be extracted and the top folder
(in this example "Satsuma Turbocharger (v2.1.7)
will not be copied into the Mods folder. All files inside will.

All files inside the red square are the files/folders that will end up in your Mods folder.
There is a checkbox in the installer that will ignore Changelog ... files also.
Changelog v2.1.7
  • Code optimization
  • Fixed issue where it was possible to install parts that should not go together (ex: if you try to install the weber, all installed twin carb parts will pop off)
  • Fixed issue making it possible to install both the normal exhaust pipe and straight pipe for big turbo
  • Renamed others save file to boost_SaveFile
  • Fixed blowoff for big turbo only working with ecu panel installed
  • Added option to disable parts wear
  • Fixed boost save beeing set to null

Depending how much time I have this weekend I might even update the ECU Mod again :)
forgot to look if the gt turbo also works with the last fix. It didn't :D

Changelog v2.1.6
  • Fixed cruise control from ecu-mod causing (small) turbo to not spool up/stay under pressure
  • Fixed cruise control from ecu-mod preventing the boost of the small turbo to be displaying both on ecu panel and boost gauge
First off: I have nothing against you sharing your savegames that have my mods in them (save files - not mod files)

I also have nothing against people making videos about my mods (I usually enjoy them, atleast if there are in a language I understand :D)

The following text was also added to the top of the Overview, please read it:

I have seen several people uploading videos of my mods without linking to the original source
or even giving versions of my mods out without asking if the are allowed to.

Please keep in mind that I as the creator own the copyright to those mods and assets.
Which means I'm also able to for example on youtube: get your video taken down.

I don't think this is necessary in any way so I ask you very nice to please link to my original work either to this site racedepartent or nexus (or both).

I will usually try and ask you to add links to my mod or remove files that include my mods.

You are not allowed to earn money with my mods -> not even ****** or crap like that!
If not allowed by me (which usually won't happen).

Do not share files that have my mods in them (like savegames).

This is not to prevent you from sharing your save game like
for example advertized as "... turbo ... savegame" or anything
but to prevent outdated files roaming around and in return causing people to come to me and ask why there version of the mod won't work and ask for a fix (usually without supplying any useful information).

*Sharing config files found under Mod Settings is fine and obviously needed for a savegame

Just please link to them, If a person is interested they can get it from the original source with the latest updates and fixes.
Quick fix for a bug report on nexus.

This prevented the turbocharger from producint pressure and power when the cruise control of my ecu-mod was enabled/working.

Changelog 2.1.5
  • Fixed cruise control from ecu-mod causing turbo to not spool up/stay under pressure
Just a small fix for the turbo blowoff sound not working when antilag from the ecu-mod was enabled.

This might not have happened for you as the ecu-mod is not yet updated.

Changelog 2.1.4
  • Fixed turbo blowoff only working when als was enabled

Changelog v2.1.3
- Changed blowoff sound to an actual blowoff sound instead of turbo flutter
- changed 4th gear ratio from 1.0 to 0.8
- adjusted pitch for new blowoff sound
- Fixed intercooler detaching when another part was damaged and was supposed to remove itself
- Increased chance for a part to fall off when below 15% wear to 1%
Changelog v2.1.2
  • Fixed turbos not setting power multiplier down to -0.96 (small turbo) or -0.90 (big turbo)
  • Fixed turbo delay not working for small turbo.
  • Fixed small turbo not having blowoff logic applied (boost dips down to -0.04 for a short time)
  • Changed turbo loop sound again
Fixed turbo not working without ecu mod installed
I completly remade all the logic and split up alot of stuff.
This also reduced the code size from 5000lines down to 3400.
-> at the same time increased it again xD

Some people sayd that they think the wear is to much...
Which is true...
So I reduced it.
With my calculation it should now take around 2h on max boost(2.5bar racing turbo) from 100% down to 0%
- This is for the racing turbo. The smaller turbo wears less with the airfilter installed. (about half when the airfilter is at 100%)

I also fixed the exhaust problems where smoke might come from the wrong position, expecially when the stock exhaust wasn't installed.

The most notable change is the improvement to the mod communication between the turbocharger mod and the ecu mod.
This for me makes this a 2.x update and not a 2.0.x update.

Please let me know if you found bugs and give information to reproduce! !!!OUTPUT_LOG.TXT!!!
-> IF you have multiple. send me all of them!!!!

If the boost gauge tells you "ERR" something is not installed or not screwed in/all the way in.
THIS IS NOT A BUG. NO YOU DID NOT SCREW IN EVERYTHING. If you are unable to install all parts like a normal person... Please uninstall the game,
TIP: ALL PARTS EXCEPT HOOD AND BOOST GAUGE HAVE TO BE SCREWED IN AND HAVE ATLEAST 1 SCREW!

Changelog v2.1
-- Added --
  • Added pitch to blowoff sound. Higher pressure = higher flutter pitch sound

If I'm going to release this. It will most likely be an easteregg and not buyable

I fixed some of the bugs I found or were reported by other people.
Performance should be much much better now (Make sure to keep your other mods like MOP up to date)
-> I'm getting around 80FPS depending on location (and I have alot of stuff open in the background).

I also updated the overview and added the new changes and some newer images of all parts.

Changelog v2.0.1
