ANYONE KNOW HOW TO EDIT THE FILES TO REMOVE GEAR WHINE OR POPS/BACKFIRE PLEASE MESSAGE ME, THANKS! - Robert
First change file explorer to show all files and uncheck hide extensions.
Go to this folder to change a car sound.
Dirt Rally > cars > models > CAR NAME HERE > bundles >
Save the .bdl file, I like to rename the extension to be .bdlOLD.
Copy the sound file you want to use into that folder. Rename the file to the one you renamed.
example:
1) rename 4cyl_na_dat_escort_mkII_dd.bdl to 4cyl_na_dat_escort_mkII_dd.bdlOLD
2) 6cylBMWZ3.bdl - rename to - 4cyl_na_dat_escort_mkII_dd.bdl
3) Try it out!
My fave is the diesel tourareg file, so I can pretend there is a WRC VW diesel car. Very similar sound to my real life tuned/modded TDI
Another nice one is the V6 suzuki, monster sound!
The 6 cyl bmw's are very smooth as they are in real life.
V6 GM 350 sounds like a big american engine.
V6 honda NSX sound is pretty good, subdued but throaty at revs.
The v10, well- if you like the v10 howl, you can pretend you have a v10 mini, LOL. I don't even know which car in dirt 3 had a v10, but the file was there!
