Dakota Speedway & Road Course AMS

Dakota Speedway & Road Course AMS v1.2

No permission to download
Hi Guys

Here we have another track converted by myself, many of you will probably remember this track and hopefully you can enjoy this track again in AMS.

Hopefully you guys will enjoy this one.

Update details v1.2:

So I found a decent video of the original track on YouTube and noticed that there are mountains in the background.

I've still left the buildings between the track and scenery out because they look out of place.

The result looks really good, adds a bit more immersion to the track which you can never have too little of.

Made some adjustments to the fog settings because of the new scenery.

Also adjusted pit tarmac with the optional darker version that's available.

Update details v1.1:

For those who prefer a slightly darker tarmac here are the new textures.

Just copy the new textures from the optional darker tarmac folder into the tracks location.

To revert back to the default lighter, just delete the same four textures.

Update detailsv1.0:

- AMS random clouds and atmosphere added
- New rgb/lighting & fog settings
- New tarmac surface
- Reworked all track decals and markings
- New white line, the rest have being reworked
- Added yellow line to the pitlane
- New grass textures
- Removed all graffiti and other weird making or textures from the grass.(their quality wasn't great)
- All rumble strips and track edges have being reworked
- New tire walls and amco rails
- All other safety and barrier walls have being reworked
- New textures and numbers for the positions tower
- Since Dakota is not known for skyscrapers or modern buildings I have removed the skyscraper background scenery and all large buildings around the track.
- I have replaced them with a new treeline that wraps around the track which in my opinion looks much better and gives the track a clean natural look.
- All tents, Gazebos and canopies have being reworked
- Added Budweiser umbrellas to the crowds
- Reworked all crowds as best as one can (crowds only available on race day)
- All banners and sponsors have being reworked with many new one's
- All sponsor structures have being reworked
- All trees have being reworked, also added a bit of motion blur to them
- All buildings and grandstands have being reworked
- All track vehicles, trucks, caravans, buses have all being reworked
- All other miscellaneous textures and objects have being reworked
- Basic loading screen created since there are no track maps or logos for this track

Known issues:

- I do apologize with the screenshots for not having the best views of this track which brings me to this small problem.

- The replay camera is very basic and mostly from a birds eye view which doesn't look that good.

- If someone knows how to make TV camera style views for this track just let me know and I would really appreciate the help, thanks!

- Fast rolling start does not work, why I don't know, again all help is welcome. The other start formats work fine.

- I've tested the AI in race form and so far all seems to be good.

- In general I think everything else looks alright and am sure that you will enjoy this track, it's fairly fast with some interesting corners and offers good racing. There's also three layouts which is always a bonus as they all very different from each other.

- If anyone notices something that I did not pick up, please send a mail or use the support section for this.

Installation guide:

- Download and install the track into your AMS's location file
- Have fun :)

A nice addition to AMS. The road courses are specifically designed for drifting, so second copies could be made to show-up in the Drift menu--there are no other similar drift tracks so important for people who like that (I am not one!) :)
Personally, I think the darkened tarmac and particularly the additions of mountains, really adds to the track. Many thanks.
The new background does look nice adds that little extra.

Tarmac for me is a bit of a strange one, I normally prefer darker but for some reason like the lighter version with this track.

At least one has the option now.

Will see over the weekend if I can make a completely new darker one instead of just making mine darker. I think with a different texture a darker one could look better.

Appreciate the feedback and review, thanks!
Very good conversion as usual mate , oval track are nice for a change. i like the enhancement with those textures, thanks for sharing :)
Always a pleasure and glad you like the new stuff, thanks!
Rather sparse (as in very light looking), but all in all, nice one. Thank you for sharing.
Generally speaking, most images on South Dakota I looked at have this slight white hazy undertone which I used as a starting point.

I think the track surface also plays a big role but this is what I wanted, a indy type road course tarmac which normally tends to be brighter.

Original tarmac was even brighter than this, will have to see how it goes and the response, for now I like the look.

You can use the rgb/lighting and fog settings from other tracks.

Thanks for the review, always appreciated.

Review edit:

Added darker tarmac for you, should be more to your liking.
thanks !!! ... friend, can not you bring some circuit from Argentina?
Most tracks that I have seeing or being given from Argentina have not being worth updating.
If you come across one then I can always have a look.
Track also needs to be interesting.
Thanks for the review.
