If you're using the amazing Sol by Peter Boese but still want to have BLM Car to control rain and wipers, you have to disable this option in Sol settings: page 4, 'weather set rain automatically'

  • hotkey to lock mirrors
  • fix for wipers starting with rain even if option was unchecked (thanks @divxmaster for taking the time to find it)

Once you've locked the mirrors, clicking on the 8 buttons (or using the corrisponding hotkeys) that move them or change their FOV or Aspect Ratio, won't produce any changes. This way you can use the keys you set to move mirrors for something else too.

There's a known bug in the shaders patch that doesn't totally stop rain but you still have some drops. Not my fault, sorry I can't fix that

By default wipers will start when rain starts, but for hardcore simmers (kidding!) here's the option to manually start wipers (@Dirk Steffen this one's for you )

There's a known bug in the current shaders patch that doesn't totally stop rain but you still have some drops. henter is aware of this and will fix it in a next shaders update.

New option to set minimum and maximum rain intensity when random, so f.i. you could choose to have just light rain (like 1-3) or just heavy rain (like 4-5), or just rain (1-5), or... yeah, you got it...

New option to set wipers speed at start, so wipers will start with a given speed, not to have to cycle through all speeds to get what you want

Thanks to henter's latest addition we can now know the position of the selected mirror (L, C, R for left, center and right). This can be useful if you have two near mirrors (one mirror and one monitor f.i.)

Well, this could be it for a while. I think I'm done with this app, until new shaders functions will be added (or until you come up with something interesting to suggest).

There's also a fifth hotkey that stops rain and wipers without having to finish the loops:

• NO RAIN (ALT + N)

You can change default keys editing them in the Hotkeys section

How could I not think about it before? Maybe because I just wasn't playing anymore
As soon as I started playing I noticed the first thing I did was making the rain start, so here it is: an option (ON by default) to auto start rain when app launches.

The other idea I had, I wish I never had it, because making it work with all the other options for random rain, different wipers speed, no wipers if no rain, etc... was a pain in the a$$
But here it is: you can now enable intermittent wipers (disable if you don't want them).
Set the duration of each intermitten cycle in the options. Default is 3.5 seconds (min. 2.5, max 5 seconds).
If you got intermittent wipers and it stops raining, when it starts raining again wipers also restart as intermittent.

Known issue: when random switching rain intensity, wipers stop 'intermitting' (wipe at normal speed) till the transition is done.
Not my fault, we can live with it
