My take on a JPS livery for the M1 ProCar
I won't be including the .xml document because we are getting a decent base of liveries from the community and I don't want to make you accidently overwrite some of the liveries you're using. We'll just have to do it the long way to be safe, which is why the installation instructions are rather lengthy. You experienced guys can just skip to the bottom of section 4. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple. You can even change the color of the wheels on the livery I give you if you want. Just replace GoldWheels with SilverWheels or BlackWheels. I try to do this so even the newest of new drivers can "get'er done" ; )
Just a tip for new guys: You can use Notepad or Notepadd++ to open the .xml document
Have fun and God Bless
INSTALLATION:
1. Make a backup of your origianal files.
2. Extract files to your AMS2 root folder. The typical path is below:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2
3. In your AMS2 root folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\Vehicles\Textures\CustomLiveries\Overrides\bmw_m1_procar
you will find an .xml document named: bmw_m1_procar_dist.xml
Create a copy of this file without the '_dist' part and place it beside this one
eg bmw_m1_procar_dist.xml'
should become
'bmw_m1_procar.xml'
4. At the bottom of the document where it says:
AVAILABLE BASE LIVERIES
=======================

SilverWheels: silver wheeled variant
Available textures:
BODY - the main external body/window paint texture
- 4096 x 4096
- DXT1 with MIPs

WINDSCREEN BANNER - internal windscreen texture
- 1024 x 128
- DXT5 with MIPs

BlackWheels: black wheeled variant
Available textures:
BODY - the main external body/window paint texture
- 4096 x 4096
- DXT1 with MIPs

WINDSCREEN BANNER - internal windscreen texture
- 1024 x 128
- DXT5 with MIPs

GoldWheels: gold wheeled variant
Available textures:
BODY - the main external body/window paint texture
- 4096 x 4096
- DXT1 with MIPs

WINDSCREEN BANNER - internal windscreen texture
- 1024 x 128
- DXT5 with MIPs

-->
you will need to copy and paste this:
<LIVERY_OVERRIDE LIVERY="59" NAME="John Player Special" BASELIVERY="GoldWheels">
<PREVIEWIMAGE PATH="BP\M1_John_Player_SpecialP.dds" />
<TEXTURE NAME="BODY" PATH="BP\M1_John_Player_Special.dds" />
<TEXTURE NAME="WINDSCREEN" PATH="BP\M1_John_Player_SpecialB.dds" />
</LIVERY_OVERRIDE>

</USER_OVERRIDES>

5. If you do not want to overwrite "Livery 59" just use another livery id#, in this case will just say 63 or whatever you want as long as it's listed in the game livery selection screen.
6. If you don't have the vehicle/livery ids showing, just do this to make them show up:
In steam library, right click on AMS2 in the games list, click properties, then in launch options type -showLiveryIDs

Excellent work Bobby !! They helped me learn and make my own designs on Ams2, thanks for all that and a big hug.

Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked it and it helped you. Seems like all designers learn a little from one another. I really appreciate the review ; )

Cheers
Awesome! The only thing I think would make it look even better, would be to either have ‘John Player Special’ or ‘Olympus’ in large text along the side of the car, rather that just the JPS logo.

Thanks for the review. I could increase the size of the lettering at the bottom. I may take a look at it in the common days ; )
