The 3rd game to be developed by Milestone for the World Rally Championship has been announced for October release. More info here. The article is quite ambitious, using the word simulation quite often. There is potential, I guess, but these yearly releases never live up to the hype.

Anything by Black bean is likely to be arcade, they usually are and the two initial games have been.

Rememebr they also write the SBK games too, and the new motocross game they have written is poor, though fun if you got it cheap!!

Potential, hype, been there, done that with their previous games.

WRC3 the graphics look good and even if it plays like the last two it will be fine. Not everything has to be a sim because if it was gaming would be boring. Hopefully they have some changeable weather in this one

No, but if it's a driving/racing game, one would expect decent wheel support, and they weren't even able to do that.

We can argue about WRC and WRC2, but look,... with better visuals, sounds and a better driving model and FFB/Wheel support they got a good package. I hope it's a real step up and not just one of those yearly successors/updates.

not really wrc is a game thats made for ps3 and xbox 360 then ported to pc which means descent wheel support wont be easy to do

Let's see what they do to this game. Highly doubt it'll live up to the word simulation.

Seriously thinking of getting a decent gamepad actually, some of these games would probably be decent on a pad instead of a wheel

    Looks like it... Google Translation

I'd wait for WRC3 if that's your concern. Pad doesn't change the sound, cockpit view and it also don't really change the physics.

Guys, let me ask you something. Is it really that hard to reproduce the physics of the best rally game (Richard Burns Rally) in any modern game engine?

Did you notice that the stage in Wales GB, Great Orme 2 was on gravel. In real life that stage is on tarmac. What the hell, if they can't even get the stages right, then I have no hope for this game

And it was next to the ocean wasn't it? :roflmao: I think Ogier crashed there.

On the first game there were pyramids on rally Mexico  this game could be so good, there are many great sims in the market, is it too much to ask to have a proper rally game like RBR? with updated graphics and physics. That Fiesta S2000 had a GPS!! in the video.

The only good thing that I can think of is that there are a lot of stages and rallyes. And the menus look great.

They always LOOK good, but I think the art of creating immersion and realism may have been lost since Richard Burns Rally.

I'll keep my hopes up for this one, maybe third time lucky. :cautious:
