Work started on Nordschleife

Well guys, seems they started working on the laserscanned Nuerburgring Nordschleife!

I am not a huge fan myself but i find it interesting since it will be the first time this track will get laser scanned.

95% sure. It has been confirmed at multiple times. I'm sure you can find something on iRacing about it. On AC it might be harder to find.

But if someone likes to chime in and prove me wrong, by all means contribute!

Yes the 3d and the physics mesh for ac tracks are different things. There was a shot of the physics mesh for one of the ac tracks awhile back.

Well, it was an invisible wall in vallelunga-club because they didn't use the correct collision mesh. So yes, the visual 3D does not correspond to the physical 3D.

wouldn't anyone who tried converting/making a track for AC know about it? or it is an exclusive feature for the official tracks

I honestly find this claim very surprizing and I'm curious to see a source (for AC that is, I don't care much about iRacing)

Well when looking at the AC Facebook it appears they are at the ring now. Not sure if they scan it themselves now (kinda strange since Simone already had data) or what they are doing, hopefully we get more behind the scenes pics

They're probably not scanning it anymore since Marco has said he's already driven the early surface build.

My bet is they're probably there just getting reference photos of landscape, housing, and track objects. Etc etc.

But who knows, I'm just purely speculating.

At least according to the initial news announced last year they said they would be there nurburgring this spring for whatever job.
And of course I have no idea of whether they went as scheduled or just the plan is delayed and or whatever.
