Wombat dll and track map?

Discussion in 'Stock Car Extreme' started by poet, Oct 12, 2014.

  1. Hi,

Wombats dll worked wonders on my install killing all the stutter nicely.
But I miss the track map when learning these new tracks.
I tried the combined rfdyn/spotter/wombat mod, but the stutter was just as bad as with stock d3d9.dll.
Is there an alternative to the wombat dll that lets me keep the track map?

    Thanks for your time.

Where do you install wombat please
  3. It's a direct replacement for the d3d9.dll that sits in the root folder of your GSCE install.

  6. Nailed it.

    Thanks man. :)
  7. Where is trackmap.dll? I can find the plugin but not the dll.
  8. It's the original d3d9.dll that's in the root folder.
It's not called trackmap.dll, (I think it might have been originally at some point, or in RF1).

Rename that one to d3d9_2.dll and put in wombats as d3d9.dll.
  9. is Wombat dll better than the GSC dll?
  10. Better?
Not sure, that could mean many things.
For me it got rid of the bad stutter I was getting loading up the Formula Vees on certain tracks (like Caruaru), but at the cost of losing the track map, however the fix for that is in this thread, so I got nice stutter free play and track map when I need it.

See more about what wombats dll does here:

  11. I must be misunderstanding something here because renaming either the trackmap or original dll is not giving me the track map.
  12. Have you tried enabling the trackmap via the normal shortcut key (don't know what it's bound to, and at work with no access - number pad zero?).

I renamed the d3d9.dll that was already in the root folder to d3d9_2.dll.
Added wombats dll just as d3d9.dll
All was then working, but I still had to turn on the trackmap via the toggle key.
  13. Yeah I did but I'm using SweetFx so perhaps it's one dll too many! :)
