Endless details went over and all the anti-dive/rise/lift/squat done in 3D for DWB together with CG, brake, torque splits, CG height, inboard/outboard force location, tyre radiuses and cambers and that's hopefully all, of course it does ignore inertias not gonna go into that. Live axle can use the same calculation. Strut should be similar, same calculation.

The Triaged excel file linked earlier with anti-squat calculation for live axle, it's possibly faulty If anyone plans on using it beware and know what you want to calculate and how it's done there. There is a lot of confusion and differences online and some minor details can mean a different angle to be used in the calculation.

Yeah the exhaust and textures overall have gone through a few stages by now. There are some nice added details in the latest iterations.

Otherwise suspension is in progress, leveling everything to make sure there isn't some hidden phantom angle. Whole rear is read out, watt link approximated, all the anti-parameters done for DWB and live axle but need to make sure AC uses it right and doesn't add a hidden angle to it, might not be big but with the anti-squat etc. it can easily mess things up fast.

I don't think so, it if was for Kunos they should downgrade the model since it's much more detailed as original content :D
The models are probably finished already, maybe there is some physics fine tuning work going on.
It's a great year for mods (if it's ever released this year lol)

Let's hope not! otherwise only one version of this car will be available and the rest will never see the light of day due to licensing issues.
 
Why would it be like that? Meco's Cobra have one version as an official Kunos car and the rest was released as a free mod.

The caterham is still on track, nothing to do with Kunos. Just regular lack of motivation that happens from time to time! and life carrying on with its ups & downs.

The 1700' model is indeed ready.

Basically i got in touch with a contender of the 2017 Academy series, who is getting us references for the model :) in exchange of his skin ingame

He used to own an R500, just sold, and bought some time ago an Academy that he built. (lot of useful pictures from this website already)
So voila the news; No release date. It keeps the "when it's done" label

Could be yesterday, could be next month :redface::whistling:
 
I spoke about official Kunos content hopes because I was so disappointed by the "Caterham Academy" physics that I fear another deception, but not because of the modeling, when I see the professional CG work done by M. Ben on his website, I entirely trust him to provide the best Caterham model ever (of all sims and games ever published), no doubt!
But physics wise I trust Kunos more to have access to deep technical manufacturer informations and to be more accurate than modders (no offence for their job). But you're all right that I didn' thought about the licensing and versions limitations for official content, my bad, sorry.

So... Ben... If I may, I could have a little deal for you... :)
If you need a small Caterham IRL fix (maybe to boost your motivation...)
would you be kind enough to let my try a beta of your mod if I let you have a ride with my car ?

Physics wise should be at least as good as a kunos car. Thanks to the incredible work of @JackCY who fillls my mailbox with weekly graphs, curves and other fancy excel sheets he made :p

+ even better if we have feedback from actual owners, that's what we need to improve what we have...

Doing some aero tonight... calculating the different surface of the projection of the car at different inclinaison -10° -2° 0 +3° +6 etc.

gaaad i've been struggling with my mesh, nothing was wrong with it, i tried smoothing unsmoothing, delete recreate faces etc.
only to realize... it's the damn vray sun doing these wrong shadows
just by rotating the wheel arch i got the same effect to another face, close to the parallel

got some work done on the Academy with the chassis + few details
doors are finished, i could add a roof and would be ready for winter!
the skin is from the official specs :)
