What graphics card do you have?

It is now 2010, and graphics power has come a long way since the early days of racer. I am positive that newer cards can support higher poly cars and tracks, and having those would bring the visual quality level up immensely.

This thread is to determine the average level of graphics processing power of the players of racer, to help modelers decide how detailed they can go with their new cars and tracks.

I have an 8800 GT and even on newer cars and tracks at max settings and 16x aa I get 60-100 fps.

Also, if you have additional detailed information about how much your computer can handle in racer, post it!

is it good?

It's very good, exept the screensize may bother you depending what your gonna do. I have a 15.6'' notebook with a Core2Duo P8700 2.53GHz overclocked to 3GHz with 4gb DDR3 1333 RAM Nvidia GeForce GTS 160m (equivilant to 9800m GTX) it's got a 320gb harddrive. It's called an MSI gt628. How much are you getting that laptop for? My dads got a 14'' vaio.

As long as it's a duelcore with Nvdia graphics higher than 7 series you'll love it while playing racer.

I've got 8600GT. I'm using Racer 0.8.8. I can play on "Top quality (HDR, bloom, motion blur, MSAA 8x, auto-exposure" with 30-35 FPS on Polish Roads and on "High quality (HDR, bloom, MSAA 4x)" with 60-80 FPS. Resolution 1280x1024. I can run CG shaders, but only on Carlswood I've got 20-30 FPS, which makes the game playable.

I've forgot add, that I've got the same FPS running Racer on Linux under WINE, but on Linux CG shaders are not working at all. And one important thing is that my motherboard provides only 4x speed PCI Express port instead of 16x.
