All drivers should adhere to the standards of driving that are outlined below. In addition, the Racing Rules applicable to all racing series' on www.racedepartment.com apply here as well and are incorporated by reference:

1.1 PASSING. It is the responsibility of both the overtaking Driver and the Driver being overtaken to assure safe overtaking. Where two Cars are reasonably alongside each other, each must permit the other Racing room. A Car traveling alone may use the full width of the racetrack. Overtaking may be either right or left depending on prevailing conditions.

1.2 BLOCKING. Any Driver who, in the sole opinion of the Chief Steward, moves in reaction more than once, altering their line based on the actions of pursuing Competitors, or who selects a defensive line and then returns to a racing line between corners or sections of the racetrack may be warned or penalized pursuant to the rules, and such decision shall be Conclusive.

1.3 INCIDENTS. Any Driver who, in the sole opinion of the Chief Steward, is responsible for: an incident where a Car spins, or goes off-track, or suffers a flat tire or other mechanical difficulty requiring it to pit directly for repairs, or an incident of contact resulting in a change of position, may be warned or penalized pursuant to the rules, and such decision shall be Conclusive.

1.4 UNJUSTIFIABLE RISK. Any Competitor who, in the sole opinion of the Chief Steward, engages in any behavior deemed to represent an unjustifiable risk or reckless endangerment may be warned or penalized, and such decision shall be Conclusive.

Penalties shall include, but not be limited to private or public reprimand, deduction of points, loss of grid position, if applicable, for the following race or any other race subsequent to the event in question, loss of all points for the race, loss of points in he overall standings, suspension, and ban. Note that the last two cannot be imposed without at least two of the other examples are first issued in a single season.

Each incident of contact shall be reviewed by the Associate and/or Chief Steward (unless they are involved, and then review will be by a Co-Director of the Series that is not involved) and he will reach a penalty consensus. The Stewards or Directors may consult other series administrators or drivers during this process. Any event involving contact between two or more drivers may be brought to the Stewards as an inquiry by any driver(s) involved in the contact.

If it appears from the official video recordings or from any other additional evidence that there may have been a breach of driving standards or behavior, on or off the track, in a manner the Directors consider to have brought the Championship into disrepute, either Director may request that the Chief Steward consider to investigate this matter further.

    Steward Inquiry an Appeal:
Any penalized driver shall have a right to the Stewards, (or one or both of the Series Directors if a Steward is involved in the disputed incident). The two administrators shall choose a regular driver to form a three person tribunal. This body will either uphold the original penalty, or issue a less punitive penalty by majority. If there is no majority consensus, then the least punitive decision shall apply. This decision is final.

This is Toast's Project now  as personal life has limited my involvement. He will be administrating this Series. I will run what I can here.

Hey Toast I am in when I can make it. I good for the 30th.I definitely would like to see the car changed though. Wouldn't mind seeing an old school car like the older IMSA cars or the Historic cars. Also shorter track lengths

  4. That is a neat idea spiff, but I'm thinking it won't attract many numbers unfortunately. Mike, Robert is planning something similar still to what you listed above as the support for new indycar season so I think I'll re evaluate again on touring/dtm. A new thought that crossed my head was spec lmp3 radical racing. They are fantastic to drive and rarely used in leagues. I do want to maintain something in line with a good support series to gt3 WEC so a prototype or open wheel spec would be best bet. If the poll has a clear winner by next week then we stick with rs01 or change.
On default setup. I love the idea but trust me there's too many stupid holes that make it so the only simple way to use it is turning damage/fuel/tire off and avoid pitting (pit strategy under DS is bugged to hell). I'm all for that though as I currently run that format in PRL's thursday random car league and it's the most fun racing league I've entered. You don't need to worry about damage, but that by no means allows ramming/excessive contact. It really makes it a full sprint race where it's full up to your ability to push 100% the entire race with little consequence.
Now, the guys who run on this site always stick to damage on/ fuel on/ tire on in leagues so if I follow that route as per the norm, tuning and pit strategy would have to be open to all. Maybe I'll construct another poll on this topic to aid in the direction of this before next wednesday.

  5. what do you mean AC? DTM audi, what are you referring too? I thought the only modern DTM was the merc...

and my own lmp3 prototype selection ( I like it lol, so will you. Trust me here its very fun...)

Suggestions have been taken into account for open TBD races on schedule (excluding crossovers with Robert's new league). If the poll decides no default setup we will have to axe cayote noose spiff :( but you could suggest fusion somewhere else and I'll see if I can sneak it in there...
Expect a full car/track combo schedule in the next few days with some of the good ideas presented in this thread.

Have fun with this series Nic. Ironically I'm also running a series in this car on another site and also starting at Catalunya as well although due to my holiday this coming weekend I'll miss that round. Should be a lot of fun.

10 lap heat, then reverse the field for 15-20 laps. Need points for heat race to maintain incentive

Maybe 25 laps. Could set up a mandatory pit stop in the final race.
  14. I do like that format a lot but it takes a lot of planning and I think it's a bit complicated for the support series. The point layout is competitive enough I believe it will be close in the standings throughout.

True, would take two lobby's. keep it sprint but I do like the forced stop idea.
  16. every race will have 1 mandatory pit stop now to adjust what you want, or to buy as much time as possible in the pit by not doing anything.
  17. 45 min will be the target lets see what poll goes for
  18. OP updated with new schedule! let me know if you really hate it, I reckon it'll be great racing.

Just a small group of us over on the Console Racing Site. We run Time Trial challenges every fortnight which is a lot of fun and this RS01 series which is to be run every few weeks. Should be a lot of fun

Is where Originalkid6 has come from who is interested in the Indycar series.
