once the final driver list is posted up which will hopefully be posted by sunday ,we will always go for the first preffered number if that is taken then it will either be the second preffered number or one that the admin has chosen.

Hey guys. I practically done my skin, i have it done in *.psd, but haven't got a clue how to make it to appear in the sim. Could anyone point me to a tutorial what's what and where?

This is what i got from @Jebus and it works thanks for this:thumbsup:
this is for windows
Unlike every other template for car skin in GSC, window templates doesn't have alpha layer already added, so you have to create one.
These are the same instructions I've posted to others and works quaranteed. It's for FTrucks but works with GSC2012 as well. So layer names might not be correct for GSC but technique is the same.

You have window template open.
- First tic background layer off, that's not needed at all.
- Next make sure layer called glass is visible.
- With ctrl pressed left click glass layer thumbnail, so now you have active pixels selected.
- Now select channel sheet, there you have all 4 channels selected RGB, etc.
- On bottom of channel sheet is option: Save selection as channel -> click and channel called alpha 1 appears.
- Now click that alpha 1 channel and window turns white.
- With paintbucket tool paint the selection black.
- Next click top channel (RGB iirc) and the window turns back to original.
- Go back to layers sheet and unselect layer (ctrl+D). And you're ready with the window.

Do same with banners and number in the window (if you add one) but now you don't have to save the selection as channel but just click the alpha 1 channel already there and paint selection with white (255,255,255).

Save as DDS, DXT5 ARGB 8bpp interpolated alpha,
------- -------- ------- -------- ------ ------- --------
For the skins you just need to flatten the image and save in DDS, DXT5 ARGB 8bpp interpolated alpha
---- ------ ------ ----- ------ ------- ------- ------- ---
this is how the file structure looks, thanks to @Davy Vandevenne

Hi,
Yes you have to add your number and name or it will give a default number..
took me a few attempts to get this working..
dont panic though if it not working i can soon make them, and post you the psd so you can see how it looks..

if need be i can make the windows for you also..:)
but i bet you want to get it working yourself i know i did..
but the offer is there

Thanks! However, I hame made an attempt at making a skin myself and have even been able to produce something; If I find it too hideous to show to the world, I'll pick one of your skins :)

I do seem to have a problem with the driver's name and the number on the windshield - I select the layer, but the driver's name I type seems to be hidden underneath this white strip above the side window. I cannot change the predefined number (12) on the windscreen, either.....

EDIT: OK , I've just read what you said above and below. If I dont get the name / numbers to work, I'll ask you for help, if that's fine by you :) Thanks!
