My attempts at creating a new user profile in rF2 won't take. I change the player details, yet they default back to my original profile. All my racing profiles across all my games are as Redvaliant, so Steam too, has that user ID. I made a new Steam profile with my actual name but it doesn't translate to the ingame profiles. In AC I created a second user folder and swapped it in place of the original - that works for AC. However, rF2 does not have a documents folder and all changes in the user folder default back to the original. Any ideas would be welcome, as I really like rF2 and would like to use it on RD.

hi im sorry your having a problem with a real name working in game
i found this in steam maybe helps found both of them so they are there.
AppData/Roaming/.rFactor/rFactor.name hope on of them works

Open "rFactor 2\UserData\player\player.JSON" file in your Steam folder

Then change

"Player Name":"Your Name",
"Player Nick":"Your Nickname",

To

"Player Name":"John Smith",
"Player Nick":"Johnny",

hi, in single/multiplayer ver. of Rf2 is also file******* rFactor.name in your winsystem.
open /c:/Users/USERNAME*/AppData/Roaming/.rFactor/rFactor.name']c:/Users/USERNAME*/AppData/Roaming/.rFactor/rFactor.name] file and reedit your

nick there. It is useful for multiplayer sessions. (win7 as admin)**

Yay Sorted! It was the roaming/rfactor folder settings - they are hidden on Win10 - that were persisting over the Steam/rFactor2 settings. Cheers, Daniel
