F1 2011 Tyre menu question

Under the tyre menu there are 2 rings showing life left in the tyres. I used both primes in P1 and only one set for about 10 laps and the other for 2 laps and the 10 lap set doesn't have the outer ring. Can someone tell me what the 2 rings differentiate in meaning. The new patch might have something to do with it also.

the outer ring is the scrub of the tyre, you will have to run 1 lsp to scrub the tyre down to its rubber. the inner ring is the true tyre life.
