    Oh, what the hell.....
Might as well give you guys someone to lap. :D
In for race 1, race 2 is a maybe.....Wee bit late when work beckons the next day, but we'll see.
All assuming I can figure out the multi-player bit in GSCE.

Not sure I can get TS installed and set up in time though....
Or for that matter if I can remember how to use it. :whistling:
So apologies in advance if I'm silent the entire time.

    Cheers,
    Lars

No problems running the track today and a nice crowd both on track and in TS.

Overall, two very nice races for me, interesting drives in traffic, passes and all. Poor driving and bad tire management hurt me. In the second race I decided the car needed a bit more banging one to get the rear the way I like it. I'll work on that before tonight's US event.

Thanks to all that could make it, summertime is tough!

    That was great fun!
"What's he on about? He was so far off the pace he never got to race.....", some may be thinking.

    True, but.....
I did manage to more or less stay with the pack for at least half the race (until I did something stupid and spun out), had a qualy time within .6 seconds of my closest competitor, plus I improved my personal best with half a second.
I even managed not to hit anyone else, which is a minor miracle. :D
(Though admittedly that task got considerably easier once everyone else was 10 seconds ahead of me. :roflmao: )

To experienced simmers, the above might not sound like much, but for me this is huge.
Certainly a lot better than compared to a year ago when I had a brief stint in the Race07 section.
I don't mind being off-pace as long as I learn something new.
Least I'm out of the Special Olympics category. :p

@Lars Hansen you were good by any standard! If I hadn't become involved in the action I would have spent some time with you. Maybe next time :)

@Craig Patteson The default view of your driving view can be set in the PLR file in the line "Starting View="0". It's about 5/8 the way down the page. The default view from the cockpit is "1". No more need to hit "Insert" eveytime you get in the seat..

@Dennis Phelan Well, let's not get carried away.
I'm getting better, but 'good' is still a ways off. ;)

As for you not spending time with me, that's absolutely fine. I actually prefer it that way.
Please don't misunderstand me, I understand the sentiment behind it, and I highly appreciate it.
But I'd rather not have 'training wheels' (for lack of a better phrase), especially if it keeps someone else from racing.
And let's face it, the only way to get faster is to race someone faster than you.
Lucky for me that leaves plenty of people to teach me. :D

Besides, look at it this way.
A year ago I had maybe one lap, and then everyone was gone. Back then I struggled against even 90% AI.
Now I race at 97-98% and with the right car/track combo I can give 100% AI a decent run for its money.
Yesterdays race was done on an unknown track, and a car I'd never driven before (didn't even know GSC had touring cars until I saw the race announcement). One hour of practice and default set-up, and yet it wasn't a complete blow-out, so obviously progress is being made.
Doesn't matter if it's at a sedate pace, I have grown far too old and wise (well, old anyway) to be impatient with this sort of thing. :)
