  2. Hi Chris,

No chance of covering our few lost souls in South Africa on a European server for Assetto Corsa?

I am predominately a solo artist doing hot laps and AI but have been doing so for years and would like to test the waters with good multiplayer events, will appreciate your feedback,

    Thank you,

The Top right is the BMW Z4 GT3 in Project CARS, and the bottom is the Z4 GT3 in RaceRoom. :)

You 'lost souls' are welcome in any of the races, be it Australian, American or European events. Since South Africa is in the same timezone as I am currently (Amsterdam) and after the DST rollback you will be in the same time zone as Eastern Europe, which means you should be able to join our events in the evening ;)
A high ping is not really a problem anymore in the more recent Assetto Corsa builds, the only thing that is a problem is when your connection is unstable, then you will start warping around and see other drivers warping as well. You can test the stability of your connection by using www.pingtest.net and selecting a dutch server. (RD's EU and USA servers are hosted in the Netherlands)

Can confirm that, high ping is no big problem, as long as it's stable. I've raced in several AU AC Club races, the only issue is that with faster cars the cornering starts to look weird.

  12. Yes Chris but not sure if there are any servers supporting South Africa to make it worth while?

    Thank you,

  13. Dankie Ricardo,

This is good news and I must try it soon,

Thank you for the information. much appreciated.

  14. (RD's EU and USA servers are hosted in the Netherlands) Hold On here !
Why is RD host USA servers in/from Netherlands ?
That way drivers from USA get high ping in server.
Better should be that a RD staff member from USA host the USA server.

Where exactly do you see an USA server? What Chris posted and we organize are events for various timezones. Americans can perfectly fine run on European based servers.

  16. What i understand about ping on servers is it low or high depending on what country servers is hosted from.
And where drivers that join a game server lives in.
Host a game server from australia and drivers join that lives in europe the ping is around low 300 to high 500 in the server.
Drivers from australia have low ping but get high ping from europe drivers.
All people that play online games nows the fact that it is a problem with high ping.
What i suggest was only that some member from USA or Australia can be host game server.
Or maybe that RD rent other game server also around the world instead to get low ping to people that not live near Netherlands.

Low ping means that play online works smooth.
High ping gets prb in small delays in online games.

I not TELL what RD shall do
It was just a idea i trow out
