I found it interesting enough to post here despite the language barrier. Sorry to those who don't have a clue what it says, but hopefully some of you Swedes here can translate for the rest ? Otherwise I'm sure an English version will be released soon.

SimBin och Telia gör rekordförsök med live-betatest på DreamHack

Under DreamHack Summer 07 kommer alla besökare kunna delta i ett betatest av racingspelet RACE 07 - The WTCC Game. Testet, förmodligen det största i sitt slag i världen, är ett genrep inför det svenska virtuella bilracingmästerskapet ”Virtual Grand Prix” i höst.

Intresserade virtuella testförare kan på Dreamhack gå in på www.VGP.se, ladda ned betademon för RACE 07, bygga sin profil och ställa in bilen för att sedan köra ut på banan och spela online mot andra spelare.

De spelare som presterar de snabbaste varven, hot laps, under DreamHackdagarna kvalificerar sig till finalerna under avslutningskvällen 18 juni. Vinnarna premieras på Stora Scenen av Alx Danielsson, Sveriges främste racingtalang och Formel 1-hopp som för övrigt också medverkat i utvecklingen av RACE 07.

”Vi tycker det är enormt spännande att kunna använda DreamHack till att testa VGP-demot som baseras på vårt kommande spel RACE 07, och så vitt vi vet är detta det största ”on site”-betatestet av sitt slag i världen” säger Henrik Roos, VD för SimBin.

Betatestet på Dreamhack utgör också ett genrep för Virtual Grand Prix, VGP, ett svenskt stormästerskap i virtuell bilracing som sponsras av Telia och som avgörs i höst på www.VGP.se. VGP stöds av Svenska Bilsportförbundet och de första officiella kvalen kommer att äga rum under sommaren.

Alla eventuella fel DreamHacks betatestare hittar kommer att kunna meddelas genom ett rapporteringsverktyg eller direkt till SimBins spelutvecklare i teamet bakom RACE 07, som arbetar på plats i montern på DreamHack.

As it says in the press release this is a beta test conducted at DreamHack... so only the 7-8000 people there are supposed to be able to download. How this is secured I don't know.. and even if it does get out in public, rememeber it is a BETA demo, not the real thing.

Under the "RACE 07" menu point there is a lot of info (in Swedish) about the whole thing.

I had the same prob , so I restored my computer 2 yesterdays adjustments.

Maybe they should remove the downloadlink or at least tell you that if you are the owner of a licensed copy you can reinstall steam and the game because it doesnt work when you are not at DreamHack!

It was a swedish release, and it clearly reads that it is for Swedes and Dream Hack people only... I just thought you guys would find it interesting. So don't blame me for your messed up Steams because you just had to try and sneak in

It won't be long until all of you get to have fun with this, and now you know something interesting is coming. Sorry to be a tease

Hmmm, downloaded and installed with no problem. If this is what we can expect with RACE 07 then I can't wait, runs and looks better than 06.
Only two cars, the SEAT Leon and BMW e90, one track....Brands Hatch 2007 in Time Trial and Full Race modes, much fun, I like it

it's crap... all it is, is the original Race '06 demo with modified textures (the sky and cars look crap) and menus. total nonsense, I wouldn't waste my time with it.

LOL, don't think so. I can run it with all settings maxed, including shadows, couldn't even think about running 06 with such settings.
The sounds are better than 06, looks a MUCH better and it runs smooth as silk. Here's some toilet paper for your "crap"
