  2. Will it be live streamed?
  3. This is the big session. Looking forward to it. Can't see any real surprises happening but I'll be keeping an eye on Lotus Renault and Kimi.

  4. 6 laps for Mercedes in 2 hours.
  5. They are running below fastest laps in the race, but 4 seconds off of qualifying times from last year.
  6. Pretty standard for the first test, and apparently temps are just above freezing - far from ideal.

EDIT: And they have now done 43 in 4 hours.
  7. Though it wasn´t their first test, they ran in Silverstone and they got a test day extra after the other teams said it was ok.

Good to see the car working as planned now though.
  8. Two things made me think about:
    1. Hulkenberg FI 1:23.440 compared to Di Resta's 1:23.332 and Sutil's 1:23.648
    2. Ricciardo TR 1:23.618 compared to Alguersuari's 1:23.694 and Buemi's 1:23.231

I know the cars usually don't show their full potential in testing but these times are pretty similar to last years Q1 and Q2 times. I think this is a sign and we can expect faster mid pack.
  9. Problem is you are comparing two different cars. New car could be 3 tenths quicker overall for example.
  10. Yes I know and that's why I think we might have a faster mid pack cause even in testing 2012 cars set similar times to last year's Q where they were pushing like hell. I still think all cars lap 3-4 seconds off their potential pace.

Lotus had problems with their second chassis. It's already been sent to the factory and the 'Jerez' chassis is been flown to Barcelona. They'll continue tomowrrow. Grosjean said that the chassis felt funny immediately as he went out and the team saw it too on the telemetry at the same time..

How cool would it be if somebody actually broadcasted these test sessions

That would be awesome. However I get very little work done as it is with Autosport's news feed.
If there was a broadcast, I'd probably lose my job :D

  15. 11:33 Hulkenberg's time is over half a second quicker than what Vettel managed yesterday. But it's still far from last year's best during testing: 1 m21.268s, set by Michael Schumacher

So that I think is the real comparison.
  16. Di Resta's 1:23.332 and Sutil's 1:23.648

This time is faster than last year Q1! You know mid teams push hard in Q1, they don't cruise. Cool it looks I'll be right about the pace of the mid pack :) Now we have to see the big teams :)
  17. My point is it's much slower than last year's equivalent Test.
