stick my name on probables list please Stuart, I'd like to try the races but I'm not feeling so hot today, just been on server and cycled through tracks to check compatibility, I'll use GTA/Cortina/'Stang in that order and the setups are in respective folders online.

Sam

:good: as always, I'm sure there will be thanks from the drivers for your setups :)

One of these days, stick up one from that bloke who made the 911 setup you tried @ Nurbs, and watch the wailing and gnashing of teeth :D

OK, I'm going to be pretty much incommunicado until just before the race now, so if you fancy a drive tonight and haven't signed up already, you don't need to bother with posting up - just show up in the correct vehicle and have some fun the old fashioned way. :good:

  • Matt Crouch

just so I remember what I've picked by the time the event starts I'm going Alfa / Mustang / Cortina

that accounts for all the combinations :D

First of all thank you Stu-Art for the delicious tracks of tonight. All three with the special car selection were great fun to drive and a nice balanced field of competition.

I noticed that with the TC65 cars i can feel much more with the wheel then with the GTC's from later date, resulting in better car control and behaviour. Drifting around Zeltweg in a Mustang was really hard but great fun.

Had some nice clean battles tonight. Thanks all for showing!

Race 1 pics

Some of the most enjoyable racing I've experienced @ RD tonight :good:

7.I sneak past Warren at Tarzan

Race 3 - jops

1. Bram takes an avant garde approach to waiting for the "Go"
2. The crests at Jops make the simple looking curves much harder to navigate cleanly
3. The full speed crest that defines this course

Hahaha something went really wrong there for me Stu :) I swear to God the lights jumped to green and i hit the throttle and when i overtook Knut (who was too early as well i guess) i saw you guys still being parked for a red light. The race director didnt bare with me and took me out right after the start, so trying to sneak back to my position didnt help me!

Another terrific night / morning racing with a great group in fun cars. I really had a ball.
Once again, the best part of all, three races, three different winners and podiums. :dance2: Just how Racing Club events should be.

For me, it was a case of some good qualifying laps, but couldn't turn them into results in the races.

Zandvoort - Cortina: Best race of the night/morning, the Cortina was really suited to the track but the competition was very close. Qualified P2 and held it for a while, but had to watch Sam's Alfa slowly drawing away. The battle with Stuart, Ingmar, and Matt was extremely close and fun. At one stage, Myself, Stu, and Ingemar were three wide into Tarzan, resulting in Stu sneaking past me, but Ingemar drifting wide into the grass and dropping out of the fight. Now Matt was all over me and surprisingly the three of us caught Sam, just to add more spice. Matt repeated Stu's move on me at tarzan, so I sat behind hoping the huge battle in front would give me an opening. They both played nicely and so I had to be content with P4.
Grats to Sam, Matt, and Stuart.

Zeltweg - Mustang: Very funny race, had a grin all the way. The Mustang sure is different to the others. Poor Knut made a great start to jump to the lead, only to watch helplessly as the Mustangs of myself, Stu, and Bram, blew past down the straight. I held the lead for a while, but that bloody first chicane kept giving me grief (almost rolled it there once :laugh2: ). I had a great race with Bram who passed, and then Sam squeezed past, so I got to watch whether Bram could hold off a charging Sam till the end. He did, and in style, including some great 'Stang drifting.
Grats to Bram and Sam, I held on for P3.

Jops - Alfa: What a great track this is. I fluked a pole in qualy, but as we waited for the starters orders, Bram decided to cruise up early to check out the front of the grid :rotfl:. The stewards didn't see the funny side though and kicked him out of the race. :bump2:
Stu blasted off the line to grab the lead, and we both opened a handy gap to the others. I did my best to keep Stu honest all race, but he was driving like a man possessed. With two laps to go, I decided to turn up the wick on the Alfa in the hope of pressuring Stu into a mistake. Guess who made the big boo boo. :yo: I overcooked it into the trees and must have tangled myself in a barbed wire fence, as the car became stuck, swaying in the breeze, and refused to move anywhere. Race over :deadhorse:

Grats to Stuart, Matt and Knut.

Thanks again to the gentlemen of the GTL Club. We may be a smaller group, but I'd say we have more fun than the GTRE jockeys. :grouphug:
