What editors are you guys using? Read about GIMP, photoshop,....user friendly?
Possible to have someone on TS who can explain on howto get started, maybe with a few people?
Would like to have/create Maxime Martin's Dtm livery on a Petrobras car:rolleyes:

Hello, Photoshop (PS) or GIMP are the most recommended, the advantage of GIMP is that it is FREE and very similar to the PS in addition to working with layers which improves the organization of work (I use PS).

Set the software, first thing is to look for and make the download of the "Plugin nVidia DDS" necessary to save your work in the correct format for SCE.

Then look for an official template of the desired car, this will come with the right layers as well as alpha channels.

For the rest, it will be by trial and error, since the template you will have some parts of the car easy to identify, but that will be separated, which can make it difficult when you have to create connected drawings in these parts.
Look desired car images at various angles to base.
Make paint in parts, save and open within the SCE to follow.
At the beginning it will be painful, but after that get the hang of it will be very simple.

Sponsor logos or other images you want to use in painting, search Google for high resolution and preferably in PNG (transparent background to avoid clipping of these).

I have helped in some way.
 
can anyone tell us what the 'in game' names are for the

ext_glass
int_glass
lights_glass


example, my car would be named
MyCar.dds

the driver is....
MyCardriver.dds

but what are the above items named as

ive tried ext_glass, int_glass and lights_glass but those names dont work

I think you can find that info in one of the team .veh files.
ext_glass= nameWindow.dds
int_glass= nameWindshield.dds
lights_glass= not sure nameLight(s).dds maybe
i can't verify this because i'm not home

i would have thought you would see the number on the inside of the windshield though the drivers door glass.

As previously mentioned the extension appears to be "Extra0.dds" for the internal glass and another separate texture with the extension "Window.dds" for the external glass as you can see in the following file structure.

From inside the cab the number and visors are clearly visible as you can see

However on the external model of the car it looks as though Reiza have left out the mesh for the internal windows which will go to explain why you cannot see the number through the drivers window from the outside.
