How much steerlock do you use on the WTCC cars?

I know that F3000 and FBMW use 420 at 12:1 so how many in-game degrees would that be?

That is a steering lock of 17.5

Here's the formula:

Rotation / 2 = (n)

(n) / (steering lock) = ratio

or

(n) / (ratio) = steering lock



So 420 (rotation) / 2 = 210

210 / 12 (ratio) = 17.5 (steering lock)

or

210 / 17.5 (steering lock) = 12 (12:1 ratio)

WTCC and GT cars use a mixture of 540 and 720 or anything in between, but the ratio is more important than where the lockstops are, so I recommend leaving it at 720.

540 rotation gives you the most freedom:

You can have 15:1, 12:1, 10:1, and 8:1 all with 540 rotation.

If you do the math, there is no other rotation setting that gives you that many choices :wink2:

While that's true, where you want the lockstops to be is down to personal preference.

I'm glad that this discussion has turned up here. There used to be a long thread about it at race sim central with some good information but it's not accessible at the moment for obvious reasons.

I had set my G25 up using the information from that thread, including a guy who races I think radicals... he shared what he thought were the most real feeling settings according to his own experience.

Then I built my new PC and forgot to write down my G25 settings and the forum was gone when I went to look for the thread again lol.

Currently I'm using 700 degrees of rotation with 23 or 23.5 lock in game. It feels pretty nice. I'm going to try 720 with 24 or 26.5 lock in game.

I have my wheel set at 360degress in profiler and Lock at 25 most of the time. If its Macau then a lock of 30.

Does it really matter what rotation/lock we set? Or is this just to simulate the in game wheel with your input?

Well it matters to me as I like to make it as real as I can afford. It is a simulator of course. But some people just leave it at what they are most comfortable with.
