steam install help

So I decided to switch over to the steam version and I am experiencing some difficulties.
I ve retrieved my steam code from iracing, unlocked it in steam successfully, when I clicked the iracing tab in steam it directs me to login to the iracing steam version which I have and brings me to the iracing home page where it tells me to update my software....I do so but I keep get a message once it's finished saying "iracing software is not installed on your system or working please download the software" I keep downloading it and launching it but I keep getting the message?
Any tips or something I am missing or should I contact iracing?

I know some poeple have cleaned out out their browser cookies and such and then in some extreme cases rebooted PC and that seems to have sorted out Iracing download problems.
