Today I finally had some free time for AC and all I got...was a crash. It kept crashing immediately, no matter what I did. :(

I tried re-installing the libraries, as suggested on the Steam forums, but to no avail. Maybe one of you guys can help me figure out what's the problem?

I'm trying to run it on the following hardware:
    • Windows 7 Pro 64
    • i7-3770
    • GTX680
    • 16GB RAM

Are you on 3 screens Tom
I switched to single screen to fire the sim up the first time.
there is the F11 trick also

there is a config you can look at
    C:\Users\XXXXX\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\Video
you might be able to set it up manually
min elooks like this but it is triple.
  5. I (seem to remember) reading about some crashes due to the TP install files. Made sure I deleted the Assetto Corsa folder in 'My Documents'.

Yeah, I got a message about that when I first started it up and it asked if I'd like it to delete the TP stuff - I confirmed but...yeah, might still be there. I'll give it a go tomorrow. :)

Did you try running it in admin mode? That's what I had to do to get it running.

Hm still no dice. What I've tried:

    - running as admin
    - completely removing the AC TP, through the control panel
    - removing the AC folder in "My Documents"
    - updating my GFX driver (the one I had was released 2 weeks ago but there was a newer one available)

However, the log file is a lot smaller now.
  9. Maybe something didnt d/l correctly from steam? Try verifying the install via steam console.
I think you right click the game, select properties, then its something like verify game cache (or something similar..)

Yep, did that yesterday. Just did it again but it still doesn't start. :(

have you tried on the Assetto Corsa forums Tom maybe they can help

The game will not start at all when launched
    • Make sure the pre-requisite libraries have installed properly, you can find them by right-clicking on Assetto Corsa in Steam then "Local Files" -> "Browse Local Files...". Navigate to the _commonredist folder and run the setup for all the included redistributables. Pay attention to any error messages you might get and make sure no antivirus or such software blocks their installation. These are normally installed automatically on first run, but occassionally they will output errors which are not reported to you by Steam.

Yep, that was the first step I undertook yesterday. Tried again but to no avail. :/

I thought I'd give it a try on here first but seems like I'll have to make a post on the AC forums.

This error can be - at least in my case - resolved by uninstalling the
KB2670838 update for Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit.
