Sparks and Colliders

Does anyone know anything abut colliders of cars? Do you know if lowering the collider will have an impact on performance or is purely for other purposes? I ask because I'm still on the hunt for more realistic sparks with the RSS Hybrid 2023 and someone said to lower the colliders, but I'm concerned that messes with the physic modeling of the car and impacts performance. I don't know enough about "colliders" and what they do.

Before I try figuring out what colliders to lower, I want to first understand if that impacts the car performance.

Thanks!

I have been trying to figure this out too. I'd like to add sparks to 1984 F1 cars. Been trying to adjust colliders.ini, of course made sure that the sparks are enabled in CSP/CM. Then added the extension folder with this ext.config.ini file for all my 1984 cars.

[INCLUDE]
INCLUDE=common/f1_generic.ini

[PARTICLES_FX]
BODY_SPARKS_AS = CARBON ; material tags for collider.kn5
COLLIDER_0_SPARKS_AS = CARBON; material tags for COLLIDER_0 in colliders.ini
COLLIDER_1_SPARKS_AS = TITANIUM, SKIDPAD ; material tags for COLLIDER_1 in colliders.ini
EXHAUST_SMOKE=1
BRAKES_SMOKE=1
COLLIDER_1_SPARKS_AMOUNT=4
COLLIDER_1_SPARKS_INTENSITY=4
COLLIDER_1_SPARKS_LIFETIME=1.1

But no sparks. Worked fine when I added them to my 1994 cars.

These are the colliders.ini settings.

[COLLIDER_0]
CENTRE=0 ,-0.165 ,0.1
SIZE=1.4 ,0.15 ,1.80
SPARKS_AS=CARBON
GROUND_ENABLE=1

[COLLIDER_1]
CENTRE=0 ,-0.01 ,-1.0
SIZE=0.6 ,0.45 ,1.0
SPARKS_AS=TITANIUM, SKIDPAD
GROUND_ENABLE=1

[COLLIDER_2]
CENTRE=0 ,-0.163 ,1.66
SIZE=0.40 ,0.15 ,1.3
GROUND_ENABLE=1

[COLLIDER_3]
CENTRE=0 ,-0.163 ,2.302
SIZE=1.52 ,0.15 ,0.3
GROUND_ENABLE=1

What could be the limiting factor?

Thanks.

I have superb sparks mod that work for ASR 1991, ASR 1992 and ACFL 1994 F1 cars. Incredible.

Check out the 1991 ASR season preview. They look amazing and not overdone.

But I don't have the solution for other F1 cars. Sorry. I would like to know too.
