Show your car

Because my project car is progressing very slowly, I will show more of the racecar, because racecar.

BRAAAAAP!

If you do you won't regret it. It is the best performance bargain around. Super car performance that is very affordable.

I got mine btw had it for about two months now. I got myself a 2011

It is not a Z07 but does have it's sides and front splitter and also came with many more goodies. The cam and heads are going to get done on it. I have all the parts already but just contemplating whether to do the work with a friend of mine or just get it done at a shop. I'm leaning more towards doing the work ourselves because it would be a great learning experience.

Project car repainted, put back together and wheels painted white with a spray because... Because why not. The alu rims are being sanded so fk it. :D A bit overdue to the "MOT", but passed with flying colours today. They said it's like new and all "major" stuff I did was front brake caliper overhaul and engine mount replacement. :D Over the course of the next year, it will get Evo1 and Evo2 upgrades :D

And the first (and only "illegal") trip it did was to a mountain chicken-picnic at about 1200 altitue. Due to faulty thermostat on the fan, I had to stop and get it rewired so the fan was running constantly for the last climbs. Invited a couple of friends with the same brand. :D

Anyway, the original bumpers are square plastic, like on the other two cars, but I got those chrome ones for 30€ a piece - That's a steal. They originally belong to a 70's Zastava 101, which is basically the same car, just with a downward sloped trunk, opposed to the straight compartment mine has. Naturally it fits right in. (I had trouble with the front one, but it was due to a bent mounting point - nothing a combination of hammer, crowbar and brute force cannot tackle.) :D

So happy, just waiting for new tires because I almost crashed out today coming into a hairpin on wet tarmac.

Nice car. If I had to start over I would just get a lightly used C6Z06 or ZR1 and be half way there already. But then again the cost of the big mods build on my C5Z has been spread over about 10 years. Ditched the LS6 for a forged LS7 in 2007, as soon as the bare LS7 blocks and LS7 heads where readily available.

My build was essentially the last MTI Houston Z07 package build they did. The Z07 package was a 427 based performance package for the C5.

You mentioned your K501 cam in the other thread, did you do the install?

Happy to say yes. It took about a week for me to complete, i was supposed to get some assistance from a friend but his work shifts conflicted with the times at which i was able to work on my car so it was just me. With the help of some informative DIY threads on Corvette Forums, two different workshop manuals and the right tools (great investment) helped me get past some obstacles and i got it done. The most PITA was getting the lines back together

Tuning was a bit complicating for me. I have HP Tuners and tried on my own, didn't do well so i took car in for a tune and dyno and had the engine looked over.

Oh hey the GS rims look the nicest btw. Are you able to fit the same dimension tire on your C5 as the C6 Z06?

@Hiroshi Awazu How do you like the vette compared to the s2000? Im sure the corvette is much faster but which is more fun or more rewarding to drive?

I sold the S2000 without not really knowing the cars true potential. I'm ashamed to say that in the eight months that i had it, it spend most of it's time parked sitting under a car cover. In that time i only put 3600kms on the car. I've had my Z06 for about three months now and i've almost put 3000kms on it. Before the Z06 i also had the Legacy 2.5GT and my Cherokee SRT and i spent more time driving them. I still have the Cherokee, it is currently parked with a twisted driveshaft.

The secret of any good LSx build really lies in the tune, no shame in getting it done by folks who make a living tuning :)

I like the GS wheels as well - currently running stock C6Z sized tires. I used to run 335 or 345 rear tires on 12" 18" C5Z replicas out back and 18" x 305's on 10.5" x 18" stock C5Z rear wheels in front and I really miss the extra grip of the wider tires.

I will probably get the GS wheels widened by an inch and run 19" x 355's and 18" x 305's.

My daily driver is approaching 34,000 miles - and probably time for a little upgrade as well.

Thinking a supercharger to bump power by another 150bhp :)

2015 Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle - it goes pretty well on e85. (385bhp & 405ftlb vs 355bhp & 380ftlb on gasoline)

Looked and sounded like this when it arrived in August 2015:

Did an exhaust and intake upgrade - the Corsa Sport was a little much for a low key daily driver:

The Corsa Touring is much better:

The truck looks like this for now with push bar, spotlight delete, LTZ chrome trim, fog lights and lower bumper valance.

Not many SUVs haul cones, for their own slalom course :)

Or have can be switched to Competitive Mode :)

I agree about the tuning. Ain't no shame in taking the car in. Car is running good, my HP Tuner is properly set up now and i got a crash course on how to use it.

I'm going to go 345's on the rear when i wear out my current tires. Thinking that i'll go with Nitto Invo's

I dig your Tahoe. More power won't hurt heh heh. I like Corsa exhaust. I have Corsa exhaust on both the C6 and Cherokee.

I took it to the coast for a night of drinking. Temporary rims and rear spacers from my friends car - Still sandblasting mine.

185/60/13, with spacers, lowering and some camber, it should look sick.

This came by mail. I quickly repainted the center part. But it chipped because I just had to reassemble it before it dried out.

Posting my geriatric car

This is a facelift 2004 Toyota Corolla T-Sport.
Essentially, it's the "same" car as the Toyota Corolla XRS (the one that Matt Farah has driven in video a few days ago)

Specs are
1.8 2ZZGE VVTL-i European tune - supposedly it makes 189bhp / Redline 8200. Second cam profile engages at 6200rpm
it has some mods, such as Toyota TeamEurope springs,
KN Typhoon
Uprated rear ARB
Poly engine mounts
Fidanza lightened flywheel

It's a nippy car, the lift absolutely addictive (too much) you just want to boot it to hear that joyous soundtrack. It handles quite allright as the understeer is controlled and the feeling is neutral.
Outside of the high cam, the car is surprisingly civilised, being a Corolla (and feeling like one too). It's not too loud.
The mpg isn't half bad as well, I can do close to 400miles in a 50l tank driven sensibly.

Hope you like the photos
