Setups folder

Discussion in 'RACE 07 - Official WTCC Game' started by Gary Brain, Sep 3, 2008.

  1. Can someone tell me where the Evo car setups folder is hidden?
  2. The same folder as Race 07, it is a shared folder, no separate one for Evo.
  3. Oh thanks, its just that I have lots of setups in Race07 but I cannot see them in Evo?
  4. huh....? i have all my setups still available in-game, did not had to do anything for it...

    Follow this path:

  6. yep that folder is there full of track folders containing setups but I dont see them in Evo
  7. that is really strange. try to make new profile and check if you see them, though it should be independent from profiles...
  8. Same thing here no setups ... and btw, the track name is nurburg...or 2007_nurbu...

EDIT : Using Vista... i wonder if it's the same path...i'll search for svm in my hard disk.
  9. I am also running Vista.
  10. Offline or online version of GTR?

Maybe do a search for *.svm
  11. Allready checked if you run GTR evo with admin rights?
  12. i did a search for *.svm and cant find any lister or viper for race evo ... i have the default setup in the game for sure ....i putted a mini from Bram in the Race 07 folder and picked it with no problem for the Mini Race tonit (using EVO) ...it's strange

Could you please give me the folder name of the fresh Nordz track .. ?
  13. ok, start Evo, load any track go to car garage, open a Simbin setup, save it, with the following name "setupsavefiles". now close Evo and do a search on all HDD's for the file called "setupsavefiles.svm". This will either find the file where ever it may be hinding you show you that it is not saving files at all...

post back here to let us know the result of your search... then we maybe able to help some more...

    Good luck...
  14. Also, can you list the folders in this location for us:

    C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\

This will give us more info on your Steam setup...
  15. Gary,

Have you changed the filter to show the right car\track, are you trying to load say a Seat 07 setup on a Seat Extreme?
  16. I will try that and also doing a test save and search for it to determine its location.
  17. Ok i did it ... the files go there C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\"mysteamname"\race 07\UserData\CarSetups\Nurburg

But i can't see the other svm files ... it's really strange. Folder option for seeing hidden files is checked , so i can see them. The good thing is that now i know where to put other people setups for EVO.

    Thx for the help

    Regarding the Vista searching.
Default in Vista certain filetypes are included in the Index service. SVM is obviously not included, therefor you will not find those files by default.

All setups are still in the same location as before.
  19. Same here at least now I can save the over again in the correct location, thanks all
  20. glad to help
