Ross Brawn likely to leave Mercedes

Ross Brawn has decided to leave Mercedes at the end of the current season, Hamilton maintains that the team's progress will be unaffected by the departure of the team principal.

Mercedes and Brawn failed to reach an agreement that will put Brawn in a position at the team he will be happy in, sources close to the team have said.

Rumours about Brawn's departure surfaced after the 58 year-old explained in Japan that he wanted a "very clear definition of who is in charge".

I don't know if Mercedes can still be competitive. How will that affect Hamilton?

Well, let's take a closer look on what happened to the Brackley based team since Brawn left Ferrari.

2007 - catastrophy
2008 - catastrophy
2009 - lucky punch with a loophole in the rules
2010 - mediocre
2011 - mediocre
2012 - mediocre
2013 - better than 2012 but not even close to match the bulls

If anything, I don't think it would get much worse than it has been so far with Brawn. He's overhyped imo.
