Romain Grosjean

Discussion in 'Formula 1' started by Ejike Wodu, Oct 9, 2012.

  1. I think most agree that he is a quick driver, but as we know, it's not all about raw speed :(.

He has made horrible mistakes this season, but IMO he was arguably worse in his debut season. His debut season was not even a full one so not sure if that counts as a debut proper.

I think he will grow out of this phase of unsophisticated driving and become one of the best drivers in F1. I think it might even show as soon as 2013 if he retains his seat. (That was a bold statement).

Other drivers are quick like Maldonado, dependable like Kovalainen, basic like Rosberg, but Grosjean has that thing somewhere inside him. He needs coaching and he will be! He will be!

I love Gosjeans attitude. ok things havent gone well. but he always has a massive smile on his face. He realizes how lucky he is to get paid to travel the world driving the best cars on the greatest tracks. I only wish some other could have the same view.

  4. I like to mock Romain Grosjean, BUT props to him on winning the Champion of champions at the ROC :)

Yes such an event shows again that the man can drive. Only needs to become a bit more calm and patient.

  6. Reason he won was because he had his own lane with no cars to hit :)

No but seriously, great job man, i donĀ“t think anyone doubted his pace, hopefully 2013 will be his "proper" year in F1.
  7. We knew how much pace Romain has and his move on Lewis in Valencia was Brave shows he can do Better but as Martin Brundle said in Close combats with More than one Driver he was getting tensed and that was the reason for the first corner clashes.
  8. Hoping this year will see him improve, maybe could see him get the best out of that potential he has. I'm hoping he does well!
  9. All the ridicule being heaved on Grosjean is vastly exaggerated. Most of his first-lap collisions were at least as much the other driver's fault as his. The shunt at Spa was also just a small mistake, which, due to really bad luck, had large consequences. Other drivers do the same thing all the time and nothing happens.
He just needs to keep going, he's clearly quite capable.

  10. i agree to a degree Markus, but i also think that Grosjean tends to vastly overdrive the car on many occasions all by himself too

so as someonelse pointed out already ,he needs to calm down ,relax, smile that brilliant smile less often and be more precise, consistent and focused
  11. Just get him some Ritalin and he will be fine :whistling:

Ivan is totally right: if he's making it beyond the starting laps he's pretty good.
  13. Damn that smile. My wife can't get enough if it, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrosjean :cry:

  15. Hehe..... that brilliant smile will make even a rock melt, but it didnt help his concentration and his surroundings awareness too much in 2012:laugh: ,but the guy is very talented and no doubt he'll rebound in a huge way next year..Kimi needs to keep at least one eye open for him..lol

Interesting how no one's predicting Roamin to lose his 2014 seat any more.
Lotus musty really need that Total spornsorship deal! I can't see any other reason why they wouldn't sack him off.
  17. The only person I can see replacing Grosjean is Valsecchi but that is unlikely in my opinion.
  18. Why am I the only one thinking Grosjean shouldn't get dropped.

Don't get me wrong, he's no Kimi, but he's no Petrov either. He has a few podiums to his name, and this is only his second full year in F1.

Drivers like him need time to settle into F1, especially with the testing bans as they've been lately. And he's not doing too bad already.
