After a few months rest, the mighty Caterham mod returns to RaceDepartment Club events. Run under the auspices of the Historic Racing Club, the first comeback event will be held on Friday 20th May, and will be a double sprint event around the familiar to most sim racers Watkins Glen GP circuit.
The event will use the closely matched Academy Class, one of the favourite classes from the previous run we had here. The Academys are well behaved but not completely docile, use normal road going tyres so grip is limited, and utilising their high slipstreaming potential is a must for good laptimes.
Despite being (or more likely because they are) relatively low on the Caterham ladder, some of the greatest events we ran used this class, so it makes sense to get back in with the favourites.
The GP layout of the Glen will alow these cars to be driven hard by any and all attendees who turn up, close, fun racing was always the watchword of Cat events.
