Resize window

Hi,

is there any way to launch the game in windowed mode and then resize or drag the window around?

It might be a very specific request, but I want to play the game in 1920*800 on a full HD screen, running at the bottom of the screen.

Is there any way to get this working?

Thanks

In the config, which starts on first start of the GSC, you can set windowed mode. I use it for all my racing sims.

Open your explorer,
Go to the installation folder of GSC
Start the config executable
Tick the box for WINDOWED.

Fire up the game.

Yes I did try that option.
But it didn't have any effect when I started the game.
It still launch in full resolution without any borders.

Set the resolution of the game lower then your screen resolution, and you will see the banners coming.

In principle, when you set the desired resolution equal to the screen resolution, the game will "fit" itself into the window. However, if you have dual screen for instance, you can still move your mouse over the 2nd screen, and click things, while the game stays open en on top.

Most used reason why people run windowed mode, is so they do not have to ALT-TAB out of the game. But if you said it to the full resolution of the screen, you will get a filled game window.

Alright - I get it.
Didn't try any other resolution than 1080p.

Is there a way to set a custom resolution in a config file and maybe even the exact placement of the window?
Or do I have to resize and drag the window everytime I start the game?

Does the resolution also scale accordingly with the resizing of the window?
Let's say I start with 720p and drag the window width to fill my whole screen, does the resolution update to 1920*720?

Thanks for your help so far,
Flo

Check your config.ini file, and look for the following:

VideoRefresh=0
WindowedMode=1
RunBenchmarks=1
FSAA=33
VSync=1
ShaderLevel=3
SubViews=0
WidescreenUI=1
CustomVidRes=(0, 0)
MinimumVidRes=(800, 600)
MaximumVidRes=(8000, 6000)

I highlighted the important settings.
Windowed mode (set to 1 for windowed, 0 for full screen).
Widescreen UserInterface
Custom Video Resolutie. This is what you are looking for right?

I had not seen Win 8 is used. I do not use that, so cant tell anything about that. Havent tried it as well, as I am really sceptic about it, but thats a different discussion.

I do know it works in Win7, as I run windowed mode as well :)
