Now... I am about to give advice on something I know very little about, I just learned by trial and many errors, so take the advice with due caution.
No1. always... always make a back up off the orginal. Mess with a second copy only.
The photoshop nvidia dds plugin must be installed (works with ati, I know I used in my first season).
You should start with the
external.dds. When you are happy with that you need only copy that and rename as, external_scrape.dds and internal scrape_dds and then copy all three back into the cars texture folder (where you got the external DDs from in the first place). The external is the one you see, but if you dont do the scrape ones whenever you crash the scrapes will show up as the orginal colour.
I find sometimes the photoshop buttons dont appear to work, this is generally because you still have something selected, with me its the 'magic wand' usually, hit
ctrl D to deselect and try again.
Everytime you fart, burp, look out the window, or click a button its best to
save. Save as DDS file. I dont click any of the other buttons on the save menu

Andris Laskins For saving I have to go to
layer, flatten(at the bottom). that is where my photoshop kept refusing to save!
If you have spent longer than 20mins, save as a version, you should have a few versions saved along the way to roll back to. If you spent 20 mins carefully painting the bonnet save it. You can then go back to that point and start again if you have gone too far
If I have saved by flattening and then want to go back and change something I sometimes need to go to:
layer , smart objects, group into new smart objects.
Ok so theres a few points, not really helpful, probably embarassingly wrong, but at least you should get the right answers after someone has read my madness and replies with what you should actually know and are based on truth
All cars should be matt black with shiny black wheels with 'downpayment blues' by ac/dc stuck on a continuious loop. Just my opinnion
