RDRC S8 Round 4 - Rally Finland (27th March - 2nd April 2017)

Engine failure on SS11, came unprepared, had a lot of crashes. But I've just repaired that engine up to 80% just before that stage...

You cant really count on the damage model in Dirt. All of my car parts were below 50% when I finished the rally, except bodywork, even though I was missing basically all of it. The engine was down to 45% and I still drove through the SS17 finish at 199km/h...

seems like your virtual car is quality, then.
me, i lift a little when the co announces a "großer sprung" (big jump), that way i may be slow and not have so much fun but it helps the car and me make it through the night.

Wow Finland is harder than expected....

I've just finished SS 06 and I'm missing Norbert Leitner in his BMW M3 and Jack Hintz in his Lancia 037 for direct competetion in RWD cars
At the moment I'm fighting with Björn + Tommie with only few seconds betwen us.

Just finished Finland Rally!
Very stress initialy, but i managed to complete with no serious damages except for SS6 that i drove with 3 wheels because i crashed on a rock and loose 50 seconds by driving slowly and SS17 that i did all my best for a better time-position and engine-intercooler's lights on dash appeared!

Never mind, the game is very funny and i am very happy that i am here with you, a big company.

just finished the event, one of only 34 who have done so to date: where is everyone? practicing in da woods? scraping their virtual cars off finnish trees?
anyway, had a good run on stage 11 until i really messed up a medium sized jump, hit the crest kinda sideways and then landed not in a ring of fire, but in a little stonehenge next to the road. kafkaesque: i couldn't get out since there were boulders all around me? i tried for 15 secs and then codie's patience ran out and the ghost of rallies past put me back on the road. that so freaked me out, i messed up all of next stage as well, ouch! i did my little comeback by doing a fine run on the long night stage #13. Final day came around and i started chasing down a greek chap in the 4wd- class like me, cuting the gap between us from 25 secs to 6 secs over three stages. However, i pushed a bit too hard in the last stage, spun and ended up 15 secs adrift of him. Finished after 87:21 mins, a great great event dear organizers, thx again for a super set, thomas!

It was a very hard and difficult rally. I had check engine and radiator fault very very long time. I lost the wing on stage 2. But I can drive very fast. I don't know how could I do this. I think this was the best rally until now.

I decided before hand, i was going to stream the entire run on Twitch and Youtube and i was going to only drive at 90-95% of max speed, slow and steady does it I had some early teething problems, Nervousness and a few minor spins for first 2 stages Then managed to get into the Zone for 4-5 stages and set 2 personal bests It went well until i went over a crest and was not prepared for the right 3, it was raining and i slide into THE pole, WHAM, 3 Spins later Thankfully no major damage and no puncture, i took it easy to the end of the stage and was allowed to repair , the rally gods has been kind on that occasion

Managed to finish the rally and my viewers were surprised being how much abuse, crashes, spins the Fiesta had taken and how it looked like it had been in a Finland war zone

That picture is from Stage 17, after i had finished the rally. It was taken from the Video Replay, that picture is how the car looked at the end. Dent`s a plenty

First loop of stages done no real issues on ss1 and 2 but on ss3 I touched a bank on the outside and unfortunately had a puncture so had to drive home slowly as finishing this event after 2 dnf's is my main goal

Finished half throttle through the last loop of stages quite scared of getting a part failure message but I luckily survived, probably no points but at least I finished a rally once again

Finally done with this rally, really exhausting and demanding race! Started second leg with 10 seconds up to Björn a the goal was of course to try and catch him. This was the day with the most stages without service so you really had to take care of the car, especially over these huge jumps. Scraped second after second off Björn's advantage and when i finally passed him on stage 10, i almost immediately after made a huge crash on the superfast section of ss12.. managed to limp through the last stage and got to service with pretty much the same distance between us as the day started. Patched the engine and radiator up to almost 100% to have maximum engine power for the final day. Went for it and took quite much time on the 3 first stages, just to take to wrong line over a jump on the last stage, hitting a telephone pole with furious power puncturing the right rear tyre Thought i had blew it all up, but reaching the finishline i realised i was ahead by about 6 seconds, so really happy about that! There is nothing to do about Andreas speed on gravel, my only chance is to try and beat him in Germany. When backchecking the timetable i can also see that Stefan is really fast in the Manta this race, so if i can reach a podium i will be much satisfied.

Here is the Full run of my try of the RDRC S8 Round 4 - Rally Finland. It`s 1080p @ 8.1 mbits but u can choose what resolution you want. Fingers crossed you can view the 1080p as i type this , if not give it a short while. say 30+ mins and it should be ok.

Well done @peg306 ! I knew you were gonna beat me on the final leg. Made som costly mistakes there and the car was not in a good condition the last three stages .

Even if i got beaten once again, im very happy that im able to challenge a "legend" like you
