Stefan, maybe you're using an alias and your real name is Rob McKenna? :)
Never mind, if you haven't read "The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" ;)

On another note, maybe a stupid question, my team would like to prepare the livery and I would like to know the potential starting number. When will that be decided?

And last but not least, Ajira Racing would like to announce that @Kalle Kouri has joined our line-up for the season. Welcome Kalle!

We will release the VSC2 skin templates at the end of this week. They will include predefined number plates so changing the number later on will be easy :)
Numbers will probably be given out on September 14.

I am looking for a drive if it is still open. Preferably with in a LMP1 but can drive GT if necessary. Can also double stint if the team is running low on drivers. I am reasonably fast in most cars. In the current leagues I run on IN2simracers I consistently finish in the top 10 (once I fixed my problem with auto clutch as I had poor results due to rears locking excessively). I recently won a 2 hour race at sandown in V8s driving solo and also at the sandown in the sprint race series. Hopefully that is enough for me to get a drive in this series. Honestly though I am just looking for a good race with other good guys who can have laugh and a battle. Will turn laps when I get my new internet.

Southern Cross Racing have progressed with LMP1 setup.
After initial concerns about individual preferences, both main drivers have been satisfied by the work of the engineers to find a fast setup that worked for both of them. Initial tyre wear issues with that setup have now been solved and the team will now progress to tyre testing and wet setup.

Team principal Christian Hornier said, "most of the issues related to a differing driving style which was surprising as David and Stefan both run very similar pace. David preferred a more pointy car on turn exit and Stefan a little more understeer. We found a solution mainly with our damper specialist working on the simulator. When we tried it on track both guys were happy. We then moved on to diff settings and tweaks which improved tyre wear".

Hi Guys !

how are you ?

I am new here, but it would be interesting to join this series, but I have some question :)

First let me introduces myself, I come for a town near Montreal in Canada, so that means that french is my first language here :)
I am driving sim racing game since a couple of year now. I race online with friends since this time, but we started last year to join a first league... and now seeing a league that feature the ISI corvette seams very interesting for us.

So here are my questions :)

-Even if my team use the GT2 ISI corvette, do all team member need to buy the URD EGT ?

-Just to be sure, we are really talking about the stock ISI c6R Corvette V1.49 right ?

-If we are doing race in practice, does that mean that if you crash the car or blow the engine (or something like that) you can still press ESC and then RACE ?

-In the case that you can press ESC then RACE, it also means that if someone leave for a reason, when this person rejoin does he get a "TEMP Yellow Car" making it hard to know which class he is racing ?

-Am I correct in understanding that we are assign a car number or do we pick one based on the un-used number ?

Thanks for your time guys :)

Yes, everybody racing here has to own the URD Mod as it has to be installed for each driver.
ESC and rejoin is possible with a time penalty of course.
There will be no issue with temp cars, because all skins will be part of the mod, so you will have every car in the grid in the mod and skin sharing is not required, therefore no issues with temp cars.

P.S. Yes the ISI GT2 2009 Corvette v1.49 will run in the GTC class.

Thanks for your fast answer !

about the yellow car that I am talking... I am talking about the temp car that is loaded on practice when someone join the server while you are on track... rfactor give you a temp car to prevent the game from freezing (for 1 or 2 sec) when a new player join the server. When you enter in garage, the "real" car is then loaded...
Don't know if you understand waht I am talking about... but it is something that bother me alot in a multiclass event, because you don't know if the car in front (or behind you) is in which class because the car is just a big yellow car

I think this issue only happens when you are using custom skins. I took part in the 8 hour and 12 hour event last year and there were several rejoins and there was never a temp car.
Maybe @Daiman Patel @Dennis Coufal have more insight on this as they retestet the plugin recently.

@Jean-Simon Asselin Unfortunately the yellow car issue still exists. But disconnects rarely happen in rF2, so you will likely not see many of these (I think there were 2 or 3 over the course of last year's VWEC).

thanks !

I just sent a request for our team in the GTC "ISI C6R" Class :)
Our team is really excited about this series, see you on track :)

I'm looking for a LMP1 Seat. I'm a pretty experienced driver doing simracing since 15 years or so. Mainly open wheel specialist and reasonable fast driven for years in FSR. I have driven a couple of races in Endurance in the earlier seasons with a overall 4th spot qualifying in a LMP2 @ Fuji probably as the most impressive result. Other then that im calculated and love it to race in rF2 with changing track conditions.

If there is any team interested drop me a message and i happily do some testing so you can check me out.

EDIT: Im with a team, if anything change I let you guys know.

Kind regards,
Mark

Hi Jean. I know that some of the questions have already been answered, but I'll respond to all of them just to make things a bit easier:

- Yes, even if your team will use the GT2 ISI Corvette (or even the LMP1 car), every team member must buy the URD EGT mod in order to compete in this league (it is not possible to install the vmod or enter the server without all of the necessary resources).

- Yes, the GTC class will use the stock ISI Corvette v1.49 (or whatever the latest version may be when the league commences, if an update is released)

- If you crash the car or blow the engine then you can press ESC and then RACE, but a time penalty will be applied each time you do this. The live timing software, which shall be available to you during the race, will tell you for how long you must remain in your garage before you may actually continue to race. Penalties will also apply in the case of a disconnect. If this happens too often (e.g. >10 times) then you will not be classified at the end of the race.

- Unfortunately the issue with the yellow TEMP car still exists. The yellow car can be replaced with another skin, but this will still be the same for every class. So yes, identifying TEMP cars is going to be difficult; if you see one then be sure to take more caution than usual. But as Dennis has said, there are fewer disconnects in rF2, compared to rF1, so we don't expect this to be an issue.

- Yes, that is correct. In this league you shall be assigned a car number according to your class.

I hope that clears everything up.

Before we can accept your application you (and your team mates) must first apply for a free racing license here.
