Drivers & Teams

The RaceDepartment GT5 Championship S2 is for single driver entries only.

Vehicles & Liveries

Vehicle Regulations Thread

This is a single model championship using a racing modified Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Your vehicle must meet the vehicle regulations exactly in order to be eligible for the championship. If your vehicle is found to be in breach of the regulations or using unapproved upgrades, you will be immediately disqualified from the championship. You may also be banned from future championships.

All drivers must use a unique number and colour for their car. These must be stated when you register for the championship, ensuring that you do not choose a number and colour already reserved by another driver. In addition, you may not choose any number between 1-10. If you do choose a previously reserved number or colour then the staff will assign you one instead.

Shakedown

There will be one or more shakedown events held before the championship begins. All championship participants are obligated to attend these events as they are designed to detect the connection issues that some users have with GT5. If you suffer from these problems and they cannot be resolved then you may be asked to give your position in the championship to a reserve driver.

Calendar

Shakedown: Grand Valley Speedway - 8th January 2012

Round 1: Laguna Seca Raceway - 15th January 2012
Round 2: Autodromo Nazionale Monza - 22nd January 2012

Absence

This is the most important part of the briefing that you need to understand! If you accept the invitation to drive in the championship then we expect you to be present for all races during the season. If you miss a round without giving at least two days notice then the staff reserve the right to remove you from the championship. You also risk termination of your licensed member status at RaceDeparment.

Championship Regulations

Championship Regulations Thread

The Championship Regulations are laid out in a document for the 2012 seasons. As the regulations differ from the club rules, everyone must read them before registering.

Don't worry Bradley, the Q&A thread is for Q&A, so people can ask all the questions they like. Better to ask now than get it wrong later. :)

Q about Vehicle Regulations = Do we have to Race Modify it ? Dosen't that only make the livery look more "racey" ?

Yes, it must be race modified. It greatly changes the car's stats, particularly the weight which is reduced by over 400kg. It also adds fully adjustable front and rear aero.

Also, the only things we can do to the car is a Fully Customisable LSD ?

Yes, the only part you may add after race modifying the car is a customisable LSD. (RM'ing the car already adds customisable transmission/suspension among other things.)

Where do i find the carnumberchoice? cant find it anywhere :(

And also i bought all the uppgrades before i find the racemodification button, but to my understanding all of the things was removed when i did the racemod, is it true or do i need to buy a new car?

sry for the questions ut im a noob when it comes to gt5

Go to your garage and select the car. This will bring up a screen showing a rotating model of the car with it's stats listed on the right. At the bottom are a set of buttons. One of them allows you to change the number on RM'd cars. (It has the number 99 on it)

And also i bought all the uppgrades before i find the racemodification button, but to my understanding all of the things was removed when i did the racemod, is it true or do i need to buy a new car?

The game does say that upgrades will be removed when you RM, but I have no idea what it does about permanent upgrades which are normally non-reversible (engine tuning, weight reduction, etc). To be on the safe side and guarantee fairness, I'm afraid you will need to buy a new car.

And don't apologise for asking questions... that's what this thread is for. :)

Practice, practice and practice. I'm ok at most of the tracks but pretty poor at a couple of them, so I need to improve. There's also a chance that I'll be getting a new wheel before the championship starts, so that will likely take some practice to get used to.

Truth be told, I don't know the answer to that one Markus. I bought the car, RM'd it immediately, and found that it did not have a customisable LSD. Perhaps it is a bug, because the Lotus used for the previous championship also didn't get an LSD when I RM'd it.
