Our internet is actually so slow that, although we are ahead of the west in real time, we are essentially a couple months behind.
We're still in 2016 looking forward to seeing if Trump or Hillary will be the next great dictator :roflmao:

Pablo Diehl held out a fast finishing Tapio Rinneaho to pick up his third GP4 career Brazilian GP win to go with S1 FFG and 1995 F1 in a thrilling end to the season, but for his Falcon team it was a bittersweet moment. For even as the two Hungarian cars crossed the line, the Apex of Joel Rautavaara was on his way to collecting his maiden FFG title in third, just one season after losing out at the same venue to Nathan Cornes. For Rautavaara, his form from the past two seasons finally paid off, whereas for Apex, the perfect way to end their operation in the series. Defending Constructors champions, the Monacan team where swept away in S4, Falcon far too strong while Apex had driver swaps to contend with. Second overall showed off the strength of the team and it's lead driver, and the results when Said was forced out in mid season would've indicated a much closer affair overall, but that being said, the team did finally fill the trophy cabinet with the missing Drivers title that Rautavaara couldn't catch.
For Tapio Rinneaho, 10 races in the points in a row and holding just enough control on the championship until a chaotic Pacific GP the round before, the feeling must be similar to his countryman the previous season. He needed to win this race to have any chance, and he quickly was on the way to getting that done. A late pit placed him behind his teammate, but he raced on, just in case. In the end, Diehl didn't move over, and Rautavaara didn't retire, so nothing was really lost outside of the race.
Off the podium, Manolis Sigoulakis ended a disappointing season for 2KF1 in which they had speed but lacked direction, fourth enough for the Greek driver to claim fourth overall. Razor finished well with Aidan Keranen breaking into the top 5 with Ben Utzer just behind in 6th, leading home Daniel Harvey. Omer Said made a return to Apex for the final round, sadly there was to be no fairytail as the Turkish ace struggled to 8th place, still an amazing effort nonetheless after nine rounds away. Aaron Reed was 9th with Jack Laskey taking advantage of late carnage to take the final point of the season.
Nathan Cornes threw away said point with a risky dive on Tobi Kederer that took both drivers out, Cornes would recover but didn't have the speed to take back 10th, whereas Kederer would slump to 2 laps down and 20th place as he leaves his driving career behind to return to managing.
Also missing out, Mane Goddard in 12th after running so well in the top 5 early on, Matteo Heymans, Oorjit Mishra in 14th was the final car on the lead lap, with Noack, Jednak, Sharp, Brugman and Bohner all a lap down. Kederer was 20th as mentioned, ahead of Rui Martins and James McNamara who ended with suspension and transmission failures respectively.
With season end brings changes, but namely in terms of teams we'll see big movement. As mentioned, Apex will be leaving, BRT has already been confirmed as joining the series in it's place, but we also pay tribute to N-Tech, season 2 champions in both Drivers and Constructors titles, who will be leaving the series as well after a hard Season 4. Drivers will no doubt be moving around, teams can still change their image or their minds and just leave, so heading towards Season 5, it could well be one of the biggest shake ups in FFG history.

@Diehl Another win in Brazil, you must be so happy with this to end the season, maybe not a title, but close surely?
@TTupsi You gave it everything, but in the end didn't have enough to grab first. Were you unhappy with Pablo going for the win, or relaxed in hindsight?

@Márk Lintner Must be weird for you, a 1-2 in the race, Constructors title, but no drivers title. How does this feel for you?
@Smartbean You'd probably be the best person to ask right now, what is the feeling now that N-Tech are closing their doors, you've been there through thick and very thin?
@kedy89 Driving just doesn't seem to have worked for you, but it seems that immediately BRT will be on the back foot next season, is it going to be a rebuilding year or a 'go hard or go home' year?
@C0rrUpti0Nz 5th in the standings, bringing victories to your new team, but after the first few races you weren't really in the title fight, does it hurt to have to give up the #1 like this?
@Mane Goddard What a season you had, leading a rookie cohort that were seriously good value for their teams. The last race didn't go to plan, but you must be happy overall?

Season Wrap Up
Firstly, lets have a team by team breakdown of the season, probably fair to say that no team would be amazingly satisfied.

Falcon Motorsports
The Constructors champions, had an amazing season to really dominate their way forward, though their two car dominance was their overall downfall. While the cars alternated between struggling and winning, Rautavaara was consistently getting big results. The Pacific GP ended their realistic chances at the Drivers title, they may well be disappointed by that result. With 7 wins, 5 poles and 6 fastest laps, they fulled deserved the Constructors championship.

Apex Racing Team
Entering the season as defending Constructors champs, and with a strong lineup, ART must have been quietly confident. To basically repeat their S3 effort of finishing the season strongly is a risky move, but it worked well for them and rewarded Rautavaara with a well deserved title. That being said, they've now closed shop, and as far as we know, that's the last time we'll be seeing Apex racing around.

2KF1 Racing
The team started out as slight favourites with a very strong car, but fell away sharply, becoming a slight annoyance rather than an actual worry for the leaders. Sigoulakis was the hero for the team, with 3 wins, 2 poles and 2 fastest laps, as well double the points of McNamara. Management of the team was clearly on the cards, and as such there seems there will be change at the top for next season, but it still remains that this was a wasted opportunity for the Australian team.

Ravenwest Motorsport
They made some good moves in the off season, picking up Nathan Cornes and bringing the #1 to the team. And from the get go it seemed to have worked, Cornes winning in a thrilling Australian GP on his debut for the team, and Martins was also strong through the first 3 rounds. But while Cornes would also win in Canada, there were no more visits to the podium for the team, who had amassed enough of a lead early on to be comfortably in 4th overall.

DTK Racing
A return to Toyota power should have heralded the return of a dominant era at DTK, instead there was only improvements from S3. Hiring Reed alongside Harvey didn't bring any results of note until the Australian was 3rd in Mexico. 4 further podiums between the two was handy, and a few extra top 5s helped as well, however the team was hurt by the fact that only twice did both cars finish in the points.

Black Box Racing
Black Box brought on a new naming rights sponsor to start the season, and radically changed their image. It was a slow start, but Jednak grabbed second in Mexico before Goddard went the next step, winning in great fashion in the US to bring the team their first win. Goddard looked a dark horse all season after that, but the team struggled to keep up with the competition, losing out to DTK in the final round and just holding off Razor.

Razor Racing
Razor had a big off season, dropping their drivers champion Cornes in favour of countryman Keranen and a returning Utzer. On paper, it seemed great, but at season start there was nothing to write home about. But smart strategic plays from the team meant that they slowly moved to the effective front of the midfield, usually filling the best of the rest slot behind the top 3 teams. Pole for Utzer in Germany was a highlight for the team.

DCT Racing
New team on the block had some real strong results early with Belgian rookie Heymans, who would eventually end up on the podium in Monaco. However points weren't easy to come by consistently, and as such the team were often fighting just outside the 10. Once they broke inside, smart strategy was responsible for big moves up the field, but it just didn't happen often enough.

JHR Developments
What worked in S3 wasn't supposed to work in S4, and for JHR, this was painfully apparent. The team started behind, and finished almost further behind it felt. Kederer was a strong signing, but none of the F1 superstar's skill was really shown in the car, and between him and Mishra, the cars finished in points positions only 7 times all season. A question mark hangs over the team, as entry into S5 seems unlikely from owner Hunsley.

Northern Tech Motorsports
If JHR had a fall from grace, N-Tech plummeted down. The former champs brought out a new look car for S4, with big (literally) changes on it. It was changed again ahead of Rd 2, but overall the team seemed to lack direction and want, even with Bohner and Sharp leading the team. N-Tech will be closing down, a sad sight for a well liked team who were a shadow of their former selves in S4.

Jawz GP
Jawz made a change to Audi ahead of the season, sadly the results still failed to show up for the Dutch team. Laskey put in spirited drives all season, whereas Brugman struggled with double duties at Jawz and running DCT, and found just one point finish all season. The team is better than this, we know, and with some big changes leading into S5, Jawz have a good opportunity to really push themselves up the field.


With that, here are the final cash statistics for the season. Teams should also be mindful that the numbers given to them in this picture are not final as more teams may pull out and we are unsure of Joel's movements with the #1.

Quick Stats
  • Joel Rautavaara is the all time leader in points for FFG, 36 ahead of Tapio Rinneaho.
  • Apex will end with themselves in second all time for points, DTK lead this.
  • Jack Hunsley still leads the winners list, Rautavaara closed to just one win behind, Rinneaho and Cornes are a further win behind. DTK lead the teams from Apex who overtook N-Tech.

Black Box Racing Announcement
Black Box Racing's manager announced that he will retire after the 4th Formula FG season, re-confirming that he will not take part in Season 5.
 
It was a disappointing season after an amazing debut, but it was a learning experience. With no driving seat currently, I may enter a team into season 5 of this series, but driver interest will play a big part in it.

Go hard or go home, all the way. As always :D

But seriously, it'll be a tough season. Good thing is that we'll probably have one of the best lineups on the grid, so who knows, we might be in for some surprises.
 
I'm not saying that in a negative way, I know you did the best you could do in the given circumstances. Was a fun season nevertheless. :thumbsup:
