CORNES CONQUERS OSTERREICHRING

Nathan Cornes got his title bid back on track with a massive win in a destructive race at the Osterreichring. With the surface clearly not to an adequate level of grip, the series struggled as 9 cars were classified and only 8 were running, a new record low for FFG.
Cornes took the lead early and wasn't headed after that, even having enough time to pit and still hold the lead the following lap. He would win comfortably from Harry Costello, who continues to impress in his début season after starting last, while Jamie Cocks would inherit third late in the race as he keeps his season moving forward.
To inherit that place, Aaron Reed was the unlucky driver to have one of only two car failures all race, his being in the last 4 laps. Daniel Harvey had an engine failure at the same time as Kederer crashed out, bringing an abrupt end to DTK's race. Bohner, Laskey, Ishikawa, Graham, Rinneaho, Utzer, Mishra, McNamara, Rautavaara, Yamaguchi and Sigoulakis all found themselves off the track with less wheels than what they started with.
Rob Sharp continued his fine recent form with 4th place, ahead of Donald Brugman and Vimal Ana. The result for these three teams maybe not all that it seems, but brings a decent income in testing conditions. The two Ravenwests both made the finish, the Dutch team the big winners of the day as a result. Reed was classified ninth while Sigoulakis retired in 10th, but will be given the point as an action plan for this reoccurring later was drafted up.
With all of this going on, a fourth straight retirement for Tobi Kederer has seen him join Andy Graham in the record books, but it is expected that the German driver is on his way out of the British squad.
Next week is from Budapest and the Hungarian Grand Prix. It will be run on Christmas Eve. Marketplace closes at 10am AEDT Thursday.

it feels amazing to be where i am. i thought i might have issues with the car, but seeing how that race went i feel confident again and ill be aiming to make a strong finish to the season

In response to interview: Yeah, my results have really picked up recently, focusing on race upgrades has been working but it may be time to switch strategy to try and continue this upward trend.
