Rbr help needed windows 8

Hi I have tried to install the original version of RBR onto my windows 8 computer but I cant seem to get it to work. I have tried changing the compatibility under properties to any the options they gave me but none of them work. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if so how did you solve it???
