All cars are closely matched in performance. If more drivers sign up after all cars are allocated, then we will add an additional one of each car.

NOTES:
  • Click here to read the password!
  • You will require the RSRBR 2011 mod, ( Update 03 ), in order to participate, please see the installation and Usage thread.
Update 04 may be released prior to this rally, please check this thread for further info.
  • You will also require the A8W-99 Car pack.
  • Teamspeak is highly recommended, and adds to the fun.

IMPORTANT:
  • Please sign up in the following format: RD Name (RSRBR2011 Name)
  • Take a screenie of RSCenter, or save your times, showing your final results at the end of the rally (including the car you drove!). This is in case any of your stages are missed by the server. If there's a discrepancy, please post your times ASAP so we're not adjusting times over 24 hours later.
  • You must stick with the same car throughout the rally - if you change, your times for those stages will be defaulted.
  • If you are new to Richard Burns Rally, we have provided a set of guidelines and links to help you get up and running: Here

Our next Rally is open for sign-up.

For this Rally, we return to the early years of WRC Rally Cars, 1999. These cars are typical 4WD Rally Cars, but lack some of the power and smarts of modern Rally Cars. The A8W-99 Car Pack has a wide selection of cars available, but all are quite closely matched, with some variation in handling / weight characteristics.

For this Rally, we won’t be suffering from any world wide “global warming”, even in Australia. All Stages will be driven in Snow, with normal snow in Finland followed by three Snow Mod Stages across USA, England, and Australia. The three Snow Mod Stages have been tested, and you can expect a grip level better than Finland’s snow, probably closer to normal gravel for these Stages. Mineshaft may look to be wild, but it drives quite similarly to normal (which is scary enough).
The weather turns a little nasty for the last two Finland Stages.

In addition, you must select your car from the available list in the sign-up, so early sign-ups get a bigger choice of cars. Don't worry, all cars are closely matched in performance, but may have slightly different handling characteristics. The Stages are varied to help even out any handling variations too.

DRIVER BRIEFING NOTES:

1. These cars are all 4WD and handling should be familiar to those used to driving WRC cars. All cars are similar in performance, but handle differently. The Corolla and Escort are a little tailey, but you can improve that with small setup adjustments. The Skoda feels a little heavier, as expected.

2. RBR Pacenotes are designed for default cars, Normal conditions and Good weather. Please remember to adjust your speeds to suit these cars.

3. Tyre selections are the drivers responsibility. If you use the automatic tyre selection option in RSRBR2011, please beware that sometimes it may give you the wrong tyre for the conditions. Always double check your tyres, it is critical.

If requests are made for any additional timezones, or changes to Start times to better suit your local needs, we will try to include them ( but within the Monday/Tuesday periods).

Please note that Start Times have been changed to take into account DST adjustments around the world. Please check your local times.

Good luck all, I hope you have fun driving in the snow. :rally:

Big thanks to Damien for the neat Banner. :thanks:

Here’s a little video to help you see the car choices, and a small taste of the Stages to be expected:

Yep, this one is as far from tarmac as I can imagine, plenty of sliding this time.
I'll make my car selection later, after others have had time to grab their favourites. I'll see which car is "unloved". They all felt ok to me. :)
I hope some of our "aliens" take the opportunity to try something new to them too.

Robb Kulcsar r27kul EU Tz, I'd like to try Ford Focus since I was on keyboard I never manage to drive that, cose it got stuck on 5th gear all the time, maybe now with the wheel I can ;).

Hehe, it is a hybrid between Ford Escort, Seat Cordoba and Skoda Octavia, with all names in a fairly nice mix. I have no idea what so ever for what I'm going to drive. The Escort is cool (and the oldest). I like Skoda (Like you see in the champ. Fabia x 2), but the Seat... oh, I loved the Seat...

Man, this choise is tricky. I will have to do some testing before I decide...

Could I ask for an EU session on sunday, please? I am driving the V8 Supercars on monday, and am at work or well at sleep when the other sessions run...

Damn, I have a very similar problem to Ole's. Escort or SEAT (and it's also a duel of fine eddy3spain work vs. KazHol's amazing model).

Ah well, gonna stay a Ford man!

Łukasz Demolin - Maggot666PL - EU // Ford Escort WRC

Troy Ament - tromoly - US - Subaru Impreza

This will be pretty tight, have tech week for our theatre show stating Monday and working a crapton until then, this might get interesting.
