Rally - Le Tour de France - Monday 30th & Tuesday 31st July 2012

Hi,

It was my first event participation in Rallye on RD.
I was a bit disapointed with my poor performence... :) I had to retire in 3 or 4 stages (too much) In 1 stage, I was close to the end but I killed the engine...

I didn't know very much the behaviour of the Peugeot 206 WRC 99, and the bad weather/fog etc... was quite new for me.

Next time I will try to be more prepared and to make some tests with the car.

See you next time!
Nice to have you here. Sorry about your first event! Mine went the same way, but on the next event, I told my self to finish all of the stages with no mistakes and I got 4th!

That there was :)
I ran the entire rally with the notes in some random language :S
Slid off Bisanne II on the third corner because I wasn't paying attention :p That and spinning hehe.
But it was good, there was twice where Warren was 0.0** away from me, with him beating me on Joux Plane II by stuff all, and vice versa on the first run on Joux Verte.
But I'm happy, got myself two stage wins, I think I'll leave it at that. Well done everybody, Great racing!

Couldn't join you guys on TS today as I had company here.

I had a very good rally, nice to see so many fast drivers in the OC session :)
I was too defensive on Puy du Lac, and a strange retirement on Joux Verte (was too far to the right in one of the tight downhill sections, the car rolled slowly over on the roof in the middle of the road and the engine and gearbox just died...)

I won 6 of 8 stages in the session, cannot be displeased with that kind of result ;)

That was very enjoyable, and despite my lack of pace I am still happy with my performance. My first clean rally once again eluded me on ss7 when I understeered on a tightening downhill right hander and hit the sole tree... But must consider myself lucky since I escaped a few disasters in the first half of the event.

Very fast and close drivers on the OC session, posting some amazing times, congratulations to them!

My rsrbr was showing "in progress" from stage 5, so here is a print screen and the saved times:

Thank you to the organising team for putting up a nice event :)

Well, my return to RBR was ok. Nothing fantastic, just an average night really. Wasn't expecting too much either, having never been good on the tarmac stages, let alone in fog/wet/dusk/night.....
The escort felt a bit understeery, but I picked it cos I thought it may be one of the slower cars, so I could ease myself in slowly. Ran the default setup all night, and apart from scraping along the ground through 95% of the corners, it was ok..

Only 1 retirement, with a stupid mistake on... eerrrr Joux Verte... or Joux Plane.. The longer one, whichever one that is. Just went too fast, hit the grass and made my navigator go "ooff"...

Some very fast guys out there... Scary fast!

Hopefully I'll get some consistency back in the following events.

Cheers.

I agree with the other OC guys, a very nice fun Rally with a good turn up.

Bit of a mixed bag for me, some steady driving, nothing fast, but had a couple of bad mishaps. .
I wasn't sure what to expect with the Hyundai, but overall it felt pretty stable and easy to drive. Of course that usually means I was too slow and not pushing enough.
Started steady and safe, trying to keep the car alive and undamaged.
SS06, I tried pushing a bit harder, but that lead to a bad crash through the sweeping fast section. On the last part I hit the inside bank and started spinning, straight towards the dreaded wooden fence. Slid into it backwards and miraculously it didn't kill the car (it usually does). I then hit the bank again trying to turn around, which wrecked the steering putting my wheel at 60 deg to the right. This made the downhill twisty stuff a nightmare, but I made it to the finish somehow, but lost lots of time.
Puy du Lac also brought some hairy moments, there is almost no grip if you go slightly off the tarmac. At one point I found myself waaaay off in the cornfields, frantically looking for the road again.
Anyway, managed to get the car home in all stages, but Roy was clearly quickest on most stages, well done Roy, pity you had one DNF.
Good to see so many drivers in the OC session, and nice to catch up with Glenn over TS tonight. Hope to see you more often mate. :)

Congrats Magnar, Fernando, Christopher

Stage wins:
Magnar Haarstadsveen: 4 stage wins
Fernando Agapito: 4 stage wins

Thanks to everyone who joined, thanks to Warren for setting it up, and thanks to Fernando for the podium presentation.

Please let me know if you notice any mistakes.

Congrats Magnar and Christopher.

The lack of concentration cost me the winning streak, but I guess it's just very hard to do a streak nowadays compared to Sebastien Levret's time :p, not when drivers like Magnar are around and when the other alien joins in.

Thanks all.

I tried to go fast on this one but I finish lower than before! And I could've gotten 3rd fastest on Puy de Lac if I hadn't crashed! Not to bad though; 2nd highest placed Xsara!

Congratulations Magnar, a very impressive set of times there.
Well done Fernando (very close again) and Christopher (great to see you on the podium).

P3 to P7 is nice and close too, so it seems to been a competitive set of cars and stages.

Great driving by Magnar and Fernando to dominate the Stage wins again.

Big welcome to Cedric on his debut Rally with us, hope you had some fun and we see you regularly. :)

Nice to see 24 drivers in this one, the numbers had been declining a bit recently, no doubt the break in the RDRC may be giving people a desire to keep their hand in.

Huge thanks again to Senad for the results collation, to Damien for the clever banner, and Fernando for his podium graphics.

Hope to see another good roll up next week. By popular demand, the old favourite Rex might be making another appearance. :D
