Rally Club Plans - Feedback

Since Rick has raised some good questions about the League, it is time to seek some feedback for Rally Club Events too.

Firstly, I am heading off on holidays next week, so the Rally of Great Britain will be my last for about three weeks. Senad has volunteered to step into planning the Club Rallys for that period, he has an insatiable appetite for work.

Rick has raised some questions re the next Season of the RDRC, and it may be useful to test some of these different possibilities in Rally Club Events, to see what works in practice, so to speak.
That means we could try things like:
1. Testing more addon tracks.
2. Realistic Damage.
3. Carryover damage to the next Stage (not sure how / if that works on the Server yet??)
4. More use of Dusk / Night Stages

I've dabbled with a couple of these over the Club Rallys but kept them to a minimum while we were building a core group. We don't want to scare off newer drivers.

If you have some special requests for Rallys, let us know, maybe Senad could use some inspiration for the next few Rallys. I'll need some when I return, lol.

If we ran a previous Rally that you especially enjoyed, let us know and we can repeat it. For example, I'm certainly going to run another Rally with the Subaru Impreza 95, this car was brilliant in all regards.

Throw in your feedback here. :rally::ups:

One major reason I like the club rallies is the variety of the rallies and cars used. So I am down for anything from N1 to Group B and everything in between, even GT10 (Porsche) :)

I don't really like tarmac, but willing to run it. Mix mod and Monte Carlo is cool too.

I like the Volvo too, and when the Escort MkII is released, next update??, we should have a Björn Waldegård Tribute.

Is someone working on a Mk2 again? I thought that project stalled. I have been wanting that one for......................well.......................forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waldergard is ok, but lets face it, Vartinen was the escort KING;)

Senad, if your going to try the M3, reverse the suspention settings front to rear. for some reason they messed up when they made that. They are backwards. The car is more (but still scary) drivable then, even of gravel.

Time to bump this thread up again, I think.

I have been getting some good suggestions from a few members with ideas for future Club Rallys, and where possible, many have been run. Thanks for the ideas, I appreciate them, and keep them coming. My aim has always been to provide as much variety (especially car packs) as possible whilst still aiming to keep our Club Rallys not too difficult for newer drivers.

One rambling thought I have been considering, is to try a Rally with Realistic Damage  . I have never used it, but I imagine that it requires very safe and careful driving, as the damage is easy to sustain, even without hitting anything but abusing the engine etc.
Maybe we can try a "Realistic" Rally soon, but perhaps use safer Stages and a forgiving car eg. Group N or similar?

I don't plan on making this a regular setting, but maybe a "once in a while" outing.

Does anyone have strong thoughts about this?

For the dusk stage its a no-no for me some stages are too dark(well some part of it) where as in real life you will turn-on the headlights which is missing here on rsrbr so no for dusk stage. Only day, night, foggy.

For the damage cumulative gets my vote rather than the realistic, because cumulative = more careful driving because once you get into an accident your damage will be carry over to the next stage(unless their is a service).

For those addon stages at lease 1 or 2 per rally club event will do, new to us plus we might know some issues that can be debated before the stage makes it to RDRC.

Then I advice to test the whole carpack before trying it. Some cars does have a wierd damagemodel.

Just to be clear, I do test all cars to be used in an Event before it is finalised. However, to be fair, it is nigh on impossible to test every car under identical crashes / bumps etc.
If drivers slide off cliffs, or hit things, they take their chances with possible damage outcomes. That is all part of Rally Driving, and rather realistic I think. I still have memories of poor Carlos Sainz losing a World Championship when his Corolla died in the last Round with only a few hundred metres to the finish.

For any Realistic Damage Rally I might try, I plan to make it a single car rally anyway just to keep things even.

Realistic damage for the win, its the only way to drive rally, i cant understand how people can go and play RBR because its the closest to realy rally driving you can get on a sim and then drive on safe settings.
Its just wrong IMO, I allways drive on realistic damage, it helps you learn more from your mistakes...JUST LIKE THE REAL THING!

Also carry over damage would be nice if it could be achieved, it would be nice if you could put in service stages into the online itinerary so thats when u could repair your car and change things instead of it just getting repaired every stage!

Currently we use Reduced damage, which certainly isn't safe. We chose this level because we use the RD Rally Club as a development center for new drivers as well as including experienced drivers. We want to attract new and inexperienced drivers into our Club, and making all Events use Realistic damage may suit the experienced drivers, but it most likely would deter new drivers. RBR is very difficult for new drivers, even at Reduced damage level. We currently get plenty of RED INK (DNF's) at reduced damage level.

However, as our drivers are becoming more experienced, it gives us the oppportunity to include a few Realistic damage Rallys.
