Rally - "Ageless Escort" - Mon 21st February & Tues 22nd February 2011

@Terri - Unfortunatelly I can't rally in any of them (one is @5 AM here, absolute no-go, during the OC one I won't be home).
I'll see if I can make it in time with the install.

EDIT: Ok, got the Group H and the update. Wait for me at the end of the pack (NO RBR for a week :p. No Escort ever.)

Yup, the game gave me the E30 on SS1 too (I was sure I did pick the Mk2). That meant retirement on ss1 and adjusting to the car on Rally School II. I can say that default lock ISN'T stupid (and changing it meant a CFH on RS :p). Had an AWESOME drive through Chird, with only one bigger off. This is wonderful, I'm just gonna go till the finish with engine wailing and wheel swinging left-to-ritght. Can't help myself and putting it a little sideways most of the time (although I'm not a master of the car, so it might just feel that way to me ;)).

Continuing to ss5 now.

rofl on my ss1, since I got a bad history in sikakama I've try to drive slowly and avoid the snow banks but still hit them and roll got to cfh.. then I decided to push for it since slowing down is not the solution.. another snow bank and cfh.. now I know its me that has a problem not the stage LOL!

Whew, that was pretty awesome. Had an absolutely fantastic rally, I simply adore the feel of RWD cars on gravel. There is so much going on, car responds to the throttle as its supposed to do, you can't stop correcting your line and concentrating for a second. Fantastic, that is the essence of rallying, period.

I was scared of SS8, didn't know what to expect from the car - turns out it was fun too. Feeling was pretty good (had only one, although huuuuuuge off into the meadows :p). Also I like the feel of tarmac Japan very much. Surface seems to be a bit slicker than normally in France in modern car (big +), and the overall feel somehow reminds me of Ireland without the fences/walls on both sides of the road :). Was very careful there.

In general I was very fond of the brake pedal, judged the speed very cautiously, but I didn't hestitate to press the pedal to the metal when I felt in control. That might mean some decent slides, but was +20s to Warren's Noiker run posted earlier. Ah well.
In the end I was somewhere around +4mins to the leader [EDIT: Ok, +5:30. Just refreshed it] (ATM, they have yet to finish SS8 and some SS7) after initially losing 5 mins for the early shenanigans. So I'm doubly satisfied with it :).

TYVM Warren for this combination. And please, please, please, make us drive the RWD often. You know, to keep the balance between AWD and RWD, not between the packs :].

Oooooh, and I know I won't rest till I enforce an RWD class in RDRC S3. No way, Jose :]

SS1: One spin, two rolls. Lots of lots of drifting! LOVELY! However, the last roll was a idiot-thing and i got stuck... -.-

SS2: Short stage. Just realized that I haven't tried this car on dry gravel yet :p But it worked out OK :)

SS3: Hadn't tried Inters either... But I felt uncomfortable. I don't like this car at high speeds, or when it gets a bit bumpy/jumps/crests.

SS4: Very little rythm on this stage, even forgot to turn in turn 2!. Got it somewhat together in the last split. At least it felt like it.

SS5: Well, I said on SS3 that I'm uncomfortable at high speed, bumps, jumps and crests... well, this was a nightmare!!

SS6: Lag in T2, causing a roll -> CFH. And a roll in T-last -> CFH. DAMN.

SS7: Never driven this good on this stage ever. Whatever car. But that doesn't say much. I have also never finished an online or offline rally with a Japan-stage in it...

SS8: Thought I was on gravel the first 7-8 turns, that was hairy. But after all a good stage.

Overall: I have the feeling that I should've won the EU event here today. Not that I mean the others are slow or anything like that. But I really should've won this...

I had fun all the way :) Winning the opening stage really won me the EU-session, as it was the only stage I did win  Every time I had a good stage time, Myrvold was faster... I think the two of us together collected 6 out of 8 stages in the EU-session, really a Norwegian rally today :) Looking forward to see how far up the overall rankings this put me, I hope for another podium...

Thanks for the race, guys, enjoyable as always :)

Congrats to all participants, great piece of car, hope it won't be the last time we run it in a Club race!!!
I manage somehow not to see that the first ss is snow and was the first time with the Escort on that surface, result 2 CFH :).

Great fun tonight and enjoyed every minute of it. Surprised myself by having an almost clean run through the whole rally and generally I think I gave about as good as I've got. My only real incident saw on Chironhead where I ruined a decent run by trying to nail it on the final corner, ran wide and had to call for help metres from the line. Towards the end I lost time by being too cautious on the fast American stages, but did surprisingly well on the tarmac at the end (a surface I'm never very comfortable on).

Thanks for organizing this one :)

After some practice with this car I get some feeling with it thanks to Warrens tips!

But SS1 did everything wrong, three head rolls an 2 cfh ( to nervous )
School not at ease an to slow
Chirdon was going well until I mad a ditch, head roll an cfh
Mineshaft2 scares me the most bud did a clean run ( not that fast )
Diamond Cr was going ok but hit a stone steering out of centre, did not make it easy
Hualapai going good, a little off road
Noiker much better than I expected 1 cfh (second time in a race so to slow over 10 min.)
Siperkakim was going pretty good but hit a tree with 1 km to go engine dead shame so 1 retirement

After the first drive with this car I thought that I should not fin 1 stage, well fin 7 out of 8 so better than expected an Lots of Fun with it,thanks Warren having a great time:)
