Following the recent big patch for RaceRoom Racing Experience and subsequent realignment of the car class structure in game Sector3 Studios have revealed the hugely successful Audi R18 TDI Ultra Prototype is due to be added to the newly titled P1 class very shortly.

While Sector3 secured a licence to recreate this car some time ago changing development priorities have delayed serious attention getting paid to this premier prototype racer in recent times, however the team behind RaceRoom Racing Experience have now released a batch of new screenshots and indicate release of the Audi is due imminently.

At 540hp and only 970kg in weight (including driver) the all-conquering R18 will joining P1 class fictional colleagues the DMD P20 and the Mistral M530 in a newly structured prototype category.

Former standalone US racer the Daytona Prototype has moved across to the renamed P2 class joining the Radical SR9's and fictional machines from Mistral and DMD. As can be seen in the below video the imminent release of the Audi is another small preparation for the sim having fully functional single player multiclass racing implemented in the near future.

The Audi R18 TDI Ultra will be joining the fastest class of cars currently available in RaceRoom SoonTM . RaceRoom Racing Experience is available to download now from the Steam platform.

Im so stupid, i purchase it with out test drive and i have a problem.
Only the Audi no other P1 have a shifting problem. The gear ratio is so close, in 100 meters im at 6th and the car is revving at reds with only 170kmh.... i tried everything, gear ratio to the longest, tc on, tc off, novice amateur get real, nothing changes pffff :(

Edit: Its fixed by itself, working fine :)

I wonder...yesterday i raced a gt3 race at Shanghai GP. 1 hour race with a full ai grid on 115% difficulty. During that hour i payed close attention to the ai behaviour. Somehow the ai tend to adopt pcars ai behaviour. Cutting corners when "there is no room". When side by side the ai steered in hitting me. Very slow racelines. Overall strange behaviour and this was a race with similar cars...wonder what kind of circus it will be with mp. Lots to do for S3 next to releasing content;)

If you dont use the animated wheel, its real easy to make it left side, if you want to know how just ask me ;)

I was just wondering, because Audi is neither English nor Japanese, and I don't remember from last years' Le Mans TV coverage - where I was looking between those huge bulbs for hours - that they were sitting on the right (but that may have been the camera, not the driver).

But if it belongs there, I will just have to adapt.

What Azure said is correct, I second that. But there is even more to it. Chris Reinke, head of Audi LMP development, stated that besides getting out on a "safe" side you always have a look at the tracks. Most run clockwise, what prefers a driver on the right due to weight balance reasons. But that depends on how heavy your batteries are, if you're running hybrid (says Pascal Vasselon, head of Toyota LMP programme).
The footrest left to the clutch was another reason for 2013, drivers had to move their legs to much to the right. That means twisting their wrists much. Looking out shall be better from one side, but is not too important.
No idea about the last years, I should ask a driver at Spa. @Erik Springelkamp I think indeed Audi moved back to left side steering, I just think I saw this on TV all the time. Maybe someone could post a pic.
