I reckon we're ready to roll Omer :)

And the Transfer Window draws to a close, some final changes are made to the 2002 F1 Driver Line up. Bert Van Waes join Eddie Jordan at his team, whilst Sebastien Levret joins Kyle Evers at Sauber. Only bduddy is now left team-mateless but Toyota and BAR are still driverless.

Earlier we caught up with Matthew Gutteridsley, Resi Recclepati and Omer Whited to ask their opinion on the newest season of Formula One.

Gutteridgsley said "We're all looking forward to 2002. Respati and Pullen, Buxton and Gutteridge, and especially Pedersen and Duivilaar, there are so many brilliant partnerships out there, and we can safely bet on a good showing."

Recclepati was quoted as saying "There is no way that we will have a bad season this year. In previous years we have struggled to get a good showing, but we have 17 drivers this year and we are looking forward to the start."

Whited was unavaliable for comment last night. Something to do with Warlords and a foreign universe

~Race~

Lap 1: And F1 2002 IS GO GO GO GO GO! Honk gets a brilliant start for Jaguar. Niels Pedersen falters a little and Dave Stephenson jumps ahead as well. David Buxton also gets a poor start dropping to 7th. The Minardi of Probert jumps up into ninth.

2) Dave Stephenson +0.5
3) Niels Pedersen +0.7
4) Resi Respati +1.1
5) bduddy +1.4
6) Peter Duivilaar +1.9

Lap 7: Amazing! At Clark Corner, Kyle Evers smashes it into the wall bringing out the safety car. Before the Arrows team can get on the radio to him however, bduddy shoots past a slowing Respati, and earns himself a drive through penalty. The safety car will be out until lap 15.

Lap 16: A great restart for Sebastien Levret, jumping from 9th to 6th. Matthew Gutteridge, in an attempt to jump ahead of the competiton, upset his brakes and has to pull into retirement, not the start the McLaren team were hoping for.

~Ranking after lap 16/58~

2) Dave Stephenson +3.0
3) Niels Pedersen +4.5
4) Resi Respati +4.9
5) Peter Duivilaar +5.4
6) Sebastien Levret +6.6

Lap 22: Honk, Respati, Duivilaar and Levret pit. The Sauber pitcrew just outwit the Renault crew to jump Levret ahead of Duivilaar. Now the battle is really on. Stephenson begins an almighty push.

Lap 28: Stephenson and Pedersen pit. Stephenson's push has really flat-spotted the tyres, but he manages to escape just ahead of Honk, with Levret third.

~Ranking after lap 28/58~

1) Dave Stepheson
2) Honk +0.2
3) Sebastien Levret +2.2
4) Resi Respati +2.9
5) Niels Pedersen +3.6
6) Peter Duivilaar +5.4

Lap 32: Honk dares to dream. Getting the better run out of Ascari, they run down to Stewart side by side and Stephenson is forced to lift. Honk manages to jump ahead. Buxton overtakes a slowing Duivilaar, but will he stay there once Duivilaar's tyres have bedded in?

Lap 38: Buxton pits, blue smoke emitting from the back of his McLaren. With Gutteridge already out, the McLaren team decide to call it a day.

~Ranking after lap 38/58~

1) Honk
2) Dave Stephenson +1.9
3) Sebastien Levret +3.5
4) Resi Respati +8.0
5) Niels Pedersen +9.5
6) bduddy +11.4

Lap 43: bduddy pits, along with Pedersen and Respati. Stephenson is now right on Honk's tail. Lower down the field, Viljar Parts engages in a fight with Team-mate Bert van Waes.

Lap 46: Honk and Levret pit, Levret emerging right on the tail of Respati, Honk in second place. Viljar Parts does the enevitable and smashes into the side of team-mate Van Waes, and both retire. Eddie Jordan shakes his fist angrily on the pit wall.

~Ranking after lap 46/58~

1) Dave Stephenson
2) Honk +20.8
3) Resi Respati +27.6
4) Sebastien Levret +30.7
5) Peter Duivilaar +34.5
6) Niels Pedersen +38.4

Lap 50: Duivilaar and Stephenson pit, Stephenson emerging 3 seconds shy of Honk, Duivilaar in his own little world down in sixth.

Lap 54: Disaster for Honk! Gearbox troubles have slowed him to a crawl, allowing team-mate Stephenson through. At the back, Probert overtakes team-mate Rosset, and Pedersen overtakes Levret for 4th

Lap 58: Respati steals a 1-2 from Jaguar at the last moment, overtaking Honk yards from the line. Stephenson takes the win to raptuous applause. Is this a sign of things to come?
