Welcome one and all to the 20th Season of Forum Racing, presented by RaceDepartment! Following from the exciting Season 19, this new season sees new regulations and some older favourites as well. What will we see this year? Rami Saidy chases a maiden win, oldwolf chases a maiden title, James Chant, Thomas Hackle and Omer Said hold up the veterans' honour, while Manolis Sigolakis has a title to defend. Sign up and who knows? You could be the next big name of RD Forum Racing!!

Joining
This season brings forth new regulations. After the success of self-done liveries, we are proud to reveal the v2.0 model. The newest version can be downloaded from here, also go there for help/requests with your new car. If you're not up to creating a car, feel free to join a team here already. The season has started, but we accept entries at any stage, it can be a good grounding for the next season.

The Races
Sprint Race
At random times, I will start races (GO GO GO), and when a race starts you will have to reply in this thread as soon as possible with the word "finish". Whoever says "finish" first wins!

Feature Race
This race is a little longer, but not so hard. After the start is announced, players must post ‘Start’ as quickly as possible.
Then they must wait for one (1) hour, then post ‘pit’.
Then they must wait for another hour before posting ‘finish’ to end the race.
This mean then, that there is an hour long dead time for posting pit or finish. Only on the 61st minute (1hr and 1min) may you post again and continue. This is the same for both posts.
This season we do have a 'second chance' during the feature race. Posting early does not invoke an immediate penalty, instead, you must wait until 10 minutes after the legal time to post again. e.g. posting at 01:11 instead of 01:12, you may post at 01:22 and avoid a penalty. The next post must be at 02:22 as well.
The first person to post ‘start’ will receive 3 points as a “pole bonus”. Those pitting/finishing too early (before the hour have passed) will be handed a penalty of 1 hour added to their finishing time per each minute early they post, unless you post again within the legal time period. If your finishing time exceeds the time of the finish of the race, in which case you will be DQ’ed.
Please note: The moderator will be harsh on this. 1 minute early=1 hour penalty. The moderator reserves the right that the time read on their screen is the time used.
Race Times Tip
If a race is started on a specific hour, let's say 09:00, there will not be another race started at that time again.

Teams and Drivers
Honda McLaren Marlboro

1. Sig Man
2. Florin Diaconescu

Can the team deliver a championship winning car to the men who finished 1 and 2 last season? Will this end like a certain 80's team, also red and white (and Honda...weird) and produce a bitter rivalry for seasons to come??

4. Omer Said

The constructors champions are looking to take on the competition this season and take the drivers title too. Surely a race winner, but how many races can it win??

And so the team that came so close last season is back again. Well, some remnants are anyway. A complete overhaul saw the factory Mercedes team become the factory Honda team (wait, isn't that the opposite way to normal??). This team is strong, with two drivers capable of the title, it would be a shame if they don't get a trophy for their new cabinet.

7. Ben Herbert

Last season, the team went so close to securing a drivers title again, but afterwards was left with nothing. The return of Ben Herbert could well be the best thing to happen to them in the off season, but there will be results expected.

Honk Racing

9. Thomas Hackel
10. Gary Ludlum

Arguably the most successful team in Forum Racing, Honk is back again for another title tilt. Thomas Hackel again leads the team, and with new signing Gary Ludlum, there is a general feeling the lean, mean green machines can again take the glory.

DHL Jordan Honda

jordan-s20-png.41416
11. Rami Saidy
12. Old Wolf

Arguably the most exciting team this season, it is yet to be seen whether they can turn the positive publicity into a championship push. But we think it can happen.

The plucky Australian team is back again. But if they thought it was hard last season, they'll be in for a whole new definition of pain unless they can get some drivers. So far only team with no drivers, which makes the team owner laugh :roflmao:

Scuderia Ferrari

ferrari-s20-png.41550
16. Sasha Jednak
17. TBA??

The legendary Italian team struggled last season, only being seen twice. This season looks better, the car seems balanced, and with rookie up-start Sasha Jednak, it seems that the Scuderia can now try for the mantle it won in S18.

Renault F1 Team

18. Fred Owen
19. Jimmy Laad

At any point of pre-season, the French factory team had a choice of four drivers, but it was only the (somewhat) late signing of Fred Owen that has given the team any chance. A mid-season signing of Jimmy Laad bodes well for the French team, perhaps the tide has finally turned for them.

Viper Racing Team

A new team that comes in halfway through the season. They have an amount of confidence, they've had the opportunity to build the car without the problems that the competition has seen. They are starting a long way behind, but with many races to go, they still have time to make an impact.

this is one of those cars that will be in, no matter what.

I don't know. I don't want to spoil the championship by losing races all the time. I may think again about it.
Well, at least you'll get to race the number 1 a little bit! you can always join later in the season if it suits (perhaps an empty team then too.

Ill be in again...

With OnboardRacing.
The car will be presented later...

*So much work on cars atm for me..., would be nice to delay the start of the season for some time ^^*
