Race #17, Brazil: Race Briefing

Discussion in 'Formula SimRacing' started by Mikko Puumalainen, Oct 17, 2010.

  1. Welcome to the 17th race of the 2010 Auto GP Formula SimRacing World Championship season in Brazil.

    IMPORTANT!

A couple of rule clarifications requested for this round:

    1. Qualifying will be run in Private mode - This means that you will be alone on track. This decision was made to prevent slipstreaming in the session.

    2. Cutting the pit ENTRY is allowed - Cutting the pit EXIT however, is still against the rules.
As usual, you can find the password for this event by logging on GPCOS and looking at the password field which is next to the server's IP address.

    Allocations: 18

Late Allocations (back of the grid starters): 3
    Active Pitlane Start Penalties: 7
    Schedule:
The Free Practice session will be 25 minutes in length. Every participating driver should join as soon as possible after the server opens to make sure that they don't miss the start of Qualifying and also to make sure that their game is configured & working properly.

The Qualifying session will be 20 minutes in length. Drivers who allocated past the deadline will NOT be allowed to post a lap time, they will instead start from the back of the grid. Qualifying will be run in Private mode (as explained above) with Parc Ferme enforced. Parc Ferme will only allow you to change your fuel load, tire compound, engine boost, engine brakemap, front wing angle, steering lock, brake balance and brake pressure after the session is over, so make sure you have your race setup loaded when entering Qualifying. The session will NOT be closed, meaning if you happen to join late, or for some reason drop out of the server during the session, you can still join.

The Warmup session will be 10 minutes in length. While in the garage, make sure you add the appropriate amount of fuel in to your car for the race. Remember, refueling is banned. You can drive freely in the Warmup session to try to get a feel for the heavier car after qualifying on low fuel.

The Race will be 71 laps long. Drive safely during the race, especially at the start and the first lap in general.

Red Flags will NOT be used unless in very specific situations which are specified in the rule documents. The Safety car will not be available for use.
