Race #13, Singapore: Race Briefing

Discussion in 'Formula SimRacing' started by Mikko Puumalainen, Oct 13, 2013.

  1. Note: Remember that you must use both tire compounds during the race and you must start the race with the tire you used in Q2.

Welcome to the 13th race of the 2013 Formula SimRacing World Championship season in Singapore.

The password to join the server will be visible when you log in to GPCOS in the Control Center next to the server's IP address.

Before proceeding to the event, pay attention to the following:
    • Remember to read the 2013 rules package from here
    • Remember to join the game with the FSR Manager software running, as described in the pre-race and post-race procedures
    Allocations: 22
    Back of the Grid penalties:
The Free Practice session will be 15 minutes in length and will be run in the "Practice 1" session. Every participating driver should join as soon as possible after the server opens to make sure that they don't miss the start of Qualifying and also to make sure that their game is configured & working properly.

The Qualifying 1 session will be 10 minutes in length and will be run in the "Practice 2" session. Drivers can use what ever setup they want, as long as they only drive with qualifying fuel loads.

The Qualifying 2 session will be ~15 minutes in length. Only the top 10 drivers from Qualifying 1 will be allowed to go out on track. Drivers will be allowed to do one flying lap (one outlap, hotlap and inlap). The drivers will go out on track one at a time in reverse Q1 order (P10, P9, P8 etc.), with the following driver only being allowed to leave the pits AFTER the previous driver has passed the start/finish line to begin their timed lap. Parc Ferme will be enforced. You will only be allowed to change your fuel load, engine boost, engine brakemap, front wing angle, steering lock, brake balance and brake pressure after the session is over, so make sure you have your race setup loaded when entering Qualifying 2. The session will be closed, meaning if you happen to join late, or for some reason drop out of the server during the session, you will not be able to rejoin the server until the server has moved to Warmup.

The Warmup session will be 10 minutes in length. While in the garage, make sure you add the appropriate amount of fuel in to your car since refuelling is not allowed during the race. You can drive freely in the Warmup session to try to get a feel for the heavier car after qualifying on low fuel.

The Race will be 61 laps long. Drive safely during the race, especially at the start and the first lap in general.

Red Flags will NOT be used unless in very specific situations which are specified in the rule documents.
  2. I see now that my allocation for Singapore has not stuck. I have signed up for the rest of the tracks (I did 2 weeks ago), but not Singapore. Is it possible to solve anyway? Or am I out of the race?
  3. what about the pit? how can we enter?
  4. You can race, but you'll have to start from the back of the grid.

The track was only added on GPCOS after the Korea race, so maybe you allocated for the other remaining tracks before this track was put on the calendar.
  5. If nothing has been mentioned about it so far, you can cut it same as other tracks.
  6. Thanks!
Can I drive in q1 then being moved down or should I wait in the pits for the whole qualy?
  7. You need to stay in the pits during Q1. If you want to practice offline instead, you could just join the server after Q2, when we move to warmup.
  8. Thanks for your time
  9. Note: because of an issue with the track files for Singapore, WC Q1 will start 10 mins ahead of schedule and will last 20 minutes instead of the usual 10.
