Project CARS 2 has received another new update and features fixes aimed at addressing some of the more obvious issues that have arisen since game launch earlier this month.

Build 1.1.3 isn't dramatic in size, however what it does do is address some important issues that have arisen with the new title since launching on PC this September 22nd. The new build update is only currently available to PC versions of the game, as the often reported authorisation process for console platforms has caused the usual expected delays. Never fear however, both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will be receiving the update treatment in the coming weeks.

One of the more prominent changes to the game includes what the developers describe as a "first pass" at addressing the current AI laptime bug when simulating qualification sessions, an issue that causes in game AI to achieve impossible laptimes if a player chooses to skip track running to the end of the session. With this part of the update only being a first pass, the issue may not be completely eradicated and could require additional development time if the bug continues to manifest itself again in future weeks.

Other highlights include some tweaks to the game AI and various miscellaneous fixes.

AI:
  • Various AI cornering and race line improvements across problematic tracks
  • Improvements to AI balancing in snow and rain conditions
  • First pass at improving simulated laptimes when skipping a non-race session
Setups:
  • Fix for the long delay when entering setup screen
Car Tyres:
  • Fix to ensure that the tyre treads are shown correctly after multiple tyre swaps
Other:
  • Fixed crash when using large Super Sampling values
  • Fix for an intermittent crash caused by missing animated meshes
  • Fix for lobby browsing and filtering that was preventing some users from joining MP games

Project CARS 2 is available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 now.

I feel everything in Pcars that I feel in all my other sims (AMS, AC, RF2, R3E) sans the little "bumps" on straights.

"avoid artificial effect".....considering I read most complaints about not feeling the weight of the car, not feeling "bumps".....all these are things you feel in your arse and NOT the fricken wheel, so feeling those in a wheel IS ARTIFICIAL EFFECT

Nope, PCars 2 does not render weight transfer artifical or not, whereas my t300 does tender track bumps

Looks like there could be a physics mesh issue on that particular part of the track surface.

In the interests of creating a solid repro case, what happened just prior to the resets you are showing in the video? How did you end up on top of what appears to be a dirt wall off the racing surface? :)
 
Oh and do you know what else grinds my damn gears....people slagging off the slightlest "pro" Pcars/SMS comments with derision and terms like fanboy/shill.Yet I constantly read comments here about how other games and devs are perfect and awesome, no-one bats an eyelid and says a thing. I mean come on people double fricken standards.
As someone who is across most of the forum, I can assure you that all devs and games get a fair amount of abuse and of course all have their defenders as well.
Just ATM the two main contenders are being particularly well served in this regard.

RF2 is arguably top dog in track evolution but has a much smaller car and track roster than Pcars, work out the man hours needed to tweak every track and every car to the nth degree
This is incorrect. Livetrack 3.0 is much much much more than any other sim out there offers.
It's rF2 + live water flow + sand / gravel / grass levels on track (so yes you can put gravel on a specific spot of the track by repeatedly driving through a gravel trap) + all that synced up in Multiplayer (even P2P).

Seems more his car is not reset at the right position, it should be reset pretty much on the racing line ..

I agree I also see that, but I wasn't talking about abuse per se...more about the way there are some who see other devs as the second coming of the messiah! I see more of it in those threads than in PCars threads yet we get the guff that all PCars pro people think the game/sms is perfect....I really don't think anyone has said that without a qualifying "for me" statement to mean it's an opinion.

To be fair, it was true that there were lots of shills last time, so there's some carry-over sentiment there.

That's presuming the overriding motivation for the pro comments for PC1 was to ensure the game sells well, In my case it most certainly was not, there's one (in) famous individual who was ott on this subject and it got every WMD member tarred with the same brush. Most of the same people slagged off as "shills" for the first game are pro about PC2 when there is NO financial gain for them whatsoever....that speaks volumes to me. It never was justified as a blanket insult and is even less now.

But Project CARS was a mess that was never fixed and Project CARS 2 is not that far from excellent. Defending the sequel is much easier and sensible.

I'm glad the shills and backers made Project CARS 2 possible for SMS, but the first game was close to an abomination for me.

Project cars was NOT a mess, drop the hyperbole.....it was fine for me and MANY others. I'm not saying it was perfect or flawless, but those flaws do not justify the negative hyperbole at all.

I'm getting a very similar experience from PC2 that I had from PC1. Just enjoying the new cars/tracks and livetrack.

pcars1, especially after few patches, was pretty good, and pcars2 is way more polished version of that, after few patches it will be properly solid and amongs best racing games out there
Completely agree with you.
Since the purchase of PC2, I have not yet run other simulators and it says a lot.

Project CARS 2 is out now, you can drop the act. Project CARS was Shift 3.

We bought an american bulldog 10 yrs ago...breader told us he would between 50-60 lbs full grown. 3 months old he surpassed that quote and topped out at 140lbs.
Were now proud owner of a drowling/shedding small dairy cow lol
I play all the sims and none have been released perferct or are perfect to date.
I was a backer in pc1...in the end it was ok but I couldnt ever get dialed in with the ffb and physics and resulted in me not playing it that much after release.
I was skeptical about pc2 and really didnt follow any of the build prior to realease. About a week before release I saw a few track tech features that really interested me, watched some positive reviews (again skeptical) than I saw a steam discount for $15 off for pc1 owners and said what the hell! Worst case scenario I use the 2hr steam refund.
Bugs aside which I hope get addressed...I have 40+ hrs since the release and loving the driving experience which feels more natural to me and I just click with it. (no sim feels ultra realistic to me)
Pretty much all the issues I had with pc1 have been addressed (minus ai) and the game feels completly different when on track.
If SMS sorts the snow and spinning at low speeds in puddles issues....love em or hate them the Live track 3.0 is truely a game changer and a great addition to sim racing.
With PC2, iracing and Rf2 having similar tech its hard for me to play my sims that dont have it, as the driving experience/strategy/awareness just dont compare.
With teams pushing the tech boundaries it gonna force the others to pick up there game going forward if they want to compete in whats becoming a flooded niche market.
