Problem seeing skins (doh, can't spell)

Since I installed win7 x 64 some time ago I cannot see the custom skins in game, I see the driver names and cars in the select car screen but all the custom cars are blue(ish) and the nationality flags aren't there

All the skins are in the mydocs r07 custom skins folder as they should be, as they were with my previous OS when it all worked fine, there is another "error" text file in there which looks something like this

I've deleted all my mods exept the MMG and Porsche SC in case it might be some conflict

I've been running in the FPES for 3 sesons now and Presto GP F3000 before that, I didnt have issues before


Am I missing something really obvious? I'm at a loss on this

Really sorry I can't help you other than to say I use win 7 x64 and when I stick my customs skins within that folder they work.

Possible not related to the OS then is all I can say.

You sure you run directx 9?

@ Ivo: Windows 7 ships with greater than dx9, so pretty sure that isn't the issue.

@ Jim: You say you are now running windows 7. Did you upgrade or did you do a complete fresh install? If you upgraded did you reinstall your games? If you did not reinstall and you upgraded then there could be corruption from the upgrade causing issues. Reinstall the game and you should be fine. If you did a fresh install and you are having this issue, then there is likely some sort of issue with your display drivers, or possibly an issue with the install of the game. Make sure you have a proper driver for Win7 and reinstall the game to see if that helps out.

My win7 was a clean install, but I used the backup game files (steam utill) and restored the game that way, I guess I'll have to do a completely fresh game install maybe? to clear the problem, I was hoping not to have to do that as it's a pain:frown:

Unless someone can come up with a different way to clear the issue I would think that doing a fresh install of the game would be required. Before you do that though, have you tried to delete the skins and put them back in fresh first?

Yeah, I've done that several times, I deleted all the skins in the custom folder and used the Presto updater widget to re-download and install all, no joy


I wondered if there was some "config" file in R07 that I could tweak, maybe it was pointing to the wrong place, but I can't see anything obvious

maybe a game re-install is the only way forward, oh joy:frown:
