Poor edges quality

Hello guys,

Since I have the game I have been experiencing poor edge quality. It is more noticeable in the cockpit lines and the white lines in the track. It is almost as annoying that i have to quit the game .

I have set antialiasing in game to max (16x) and set the option in my catalyst to defined by application. Also have all video settings to max in game.

Does anyone knows if I have forgotten something? Really appreciate your help

If I recall correctly:
- CPU Rating, on the most powerful computers at the time most of us had Win XP was maxxed out at 5
- ObjDetail and TexDetail from 1 to 5
- SystemRAM actual system RAM (in megabytes)
- VideoRAM - throughout the years, there's sort of a "mantra" for this, which is 1.5x VIDEORAM (in megabytes)

I am unsure of the VIDEORAM 1.5x figure. In my experience, the best performance is achieved when VideoRAM = actual video RAM, not the mix system-RAM + videoRAM (two obviously different interfaces and chips).

The highest xxxDetail settings bring out some curious details. Worth it, though not all machines can handle it well (requires more calc power).

It was suggested to ISR by one of the The Sim Factory people.

My own settings are slightly different, but they more of less confirm what Rob Coulter suggested. I'd also suggest that people use nVidia Inspector (I am certain it still works with recent nvidia drivers) as well, and try different "high" settings.

I didn't find these .ini changes to do anything on my system. No graphical changes, no framerate improvements. Oh well.

I've been running GSCE with this modified d3d driver posted over at the Nvidia forum - on page 3 /post 36 of the Clamp negative LOD bias thread:

Gets rid of the jaggies quite nicely. Trade off is you lose track map display.

I use 4x SGSSAA and 4x MSAA which works best honestly, but framerate does take a hit.

I use the same settings plus the clamped version of the d3d9.dll - which makes the image quality silky smooth.

Getting FPS in the 300 range.

Running an i5 2500K CPU OCed by 44 and a 2GB 670 GTX

Thanks for the tips guys, I have 16 gigs of ram, would that mean I enter it like so: SystemRAM=16000
also, I am run 2xGTX 580 in Sli, both are 1.5 gigs, my VideoRam was already at :VideoRAM=4028, should I change that to 3000.

PlayerDetail=3
TrackDetail=3

I added the above 2 as they were not in my ini file.

1 GB of memory is = 1024 MB. So 16 GB of memory would be 16384 MB.

i7 2500k, 16gig ram, 250ssd HD, 2xGTX580 running in Sli, NVidia inspector settings set for Sli and taken from youtube for GSC 4x AA.

I did reinstall the Game in a new machine (used to have good graphic quality, with an older GPU), and this new dll did the trick!
